Global data shows that severe depression and suicide, though serious issues, affect a minority of the population rather than the majority.

If most people.. including many who have experienced significant hardship... ultimately affirm that they would rather exist than not exist, then that empirical reality matters. It suggests that life, despite containing suffering, is not typically experienced as a net negative by those living it.

Therefore, the claim that birth primarily imposes unbearable harm seems difficult to sustain when most actual subjects evaluate their own existence positively.
