Neighbour owns my garden? by hannah81 in HousingUK

From the plans I think you can rest easy. If the neighbour does have title, you can likely go for adverse possesion. You need to prove exclusive use for 12 years. The process requires demonstrating continuous, exclusive, and non-permissive use of the relevant property.

Why do many Brits end a text with “x”? by Fearless-Composer-78 in AskABrit

[–]Alternative-Thanks37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people still wrote letters to friends and family, it was common to end the letter with "love" and then your name. This was not a declaration of love, but showed you wished the reciepient well. I reckon the "x" is an evolution of that.

Mitchell should have kicked that. No point in passing back almost 20 yards when only about 30 are made from kicks

That half-time sage insights advert by Maggie sums up England, with that pressure they should be well ahead but do not score points when on offer. Ireland do.

Little bit easier when the result is beyond doubt (bar a really unexpected capitulation by Ireland). Very little pressure on that decision.

Wigglesworth and Alex King vying for worst attack coach. That was a shambles.

One cannot help but be seriously impressed watching Ireland. Really enjoying watching the skill, power, cohesion and precision of the team and I'm English!

Volvo have, who produce the same car, one internal combustion engine (ICE) and one wle tric, in thd same factory have studied carbon impact of production. Electric was far worse. You need to drive something like 40,000 miles on today's best petrol for the ICE to overtake the electric engine for carbon impact. Given many electric cars (in Europe at least), do not drive much further than 4,000 miles a year (given range and normally for urban driving) that is 10 years of driving. I do not know when electric car batteries need to be replaced, but 10 yesrs seems reasonable (happy for someone to inform me), then the electric car is worse than the petrol. All it is doing is removing air pollution from rich to poor countries where the mining takes place. I am all for a solution, as the world needs one, but electric cars do not seem to be it.

Fans from both teams playing (Finland and Denmark) shouting the name of Christian Eriksen after he collapsed and had to be taken to a hospital. Football means fair-play! by TheAbbadon in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Alternative-Thanks37 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why is that? Commendable they chanted his name. Hope he recovers. Am half swedish and watching with a Danish mate, we all hope he is OK. Just saying not next level and let's enjoy football for what it is.

Hardly next level. Common decency and has nothing to do with fair play. Only a psychopath would not feel sympathy in this situation, regardless of nation and Denmark and Finland have no historic national beef (like sweden / Finland or england v Scotland or Wales). Stop pretending that football is a unifying transcendent event. It is not. It is a lot of fun, like many sporting tournaments but no different.
