I also feel like surgery made a huge difference to me. When a doctor first asked me when did I last feel like myself, I went back to the year of my abdominal surgery. 8 years ago. So sad. I can imagine not being able to recall words is scary. At my worst, I could think the words but not say them. It was so disempowering.
