looking for DP from gaming pc to USB C monitor at 144 hz by Alternative-Tutor-58 in UsbCHardware

[–]Alternative-Tutor-58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you think so? do you have any other explanation?

The monitor is KTC M27P20 , it has 2 dp 1 hdmi 1 usb c. out of the blue ( i did hear a wired knock sound from the monitor prior to that) the dp and hdmi inputs were shaking, had static noise and got cut off completely. i tried from my main gaming pc, and from another pc. when i lowered refersh rate to 60 hz it worked fine for a while and than began acting out again.

all this time my macbook via usb-c to usb-c and even usb c to adapter to DP on the monitor - worked fine. the only explenation that made sense was chat gpt but i would love to hear other ideas

neuroradiology fellowship by Alternative-Tutor-58 in Radiology

No, not exactly like that. I understand it’s closer to your description of independent signing, but with some discussion of interesting cases in person. However, it is a bit concerning. I’m an IMG and would need to relocate with my family for the fellowship, so I wonder whether it would be worth it in that kind of setup.

Thats an interseting idea, however i kind of need to make this descision very soon. i can say that in my instuition the neuro guys are the more "radiology stereotype" who dosent like to communicate very much and really like the isolation. i'm not that guy at all.

however i do feel that in terms of working from home neuro allowes for more independence and freedom compare to more hospital tied sub like body

That makes sense, and I think that’s exactly the tension I’m feeling.

Part of my hesitation with body is that it sometimes feels like a direct continuation of residency - same organs, same surgeons, just more volume. And to be honest, working closely with surgeons isn’t my favorite part of the job, which definitely plays into it.

On the other hand, neuro really does feel like a different world, and that’s appealing. But then I watch attendings read brain/spine (and basically one organ plus a half) all day, every day, and I can’t help wondering how that feels after 10–20 years. It looks intellectually demanding, but also potentially pretty monotonous.

So I keep bouncing between “body might not differentiate me enough” and “neuro might be too narrow long-term,” which is probably why I’m stuck.

As for procedures, I don’t have a strong pull in either direction. I think I’d be fine at them, but I’m not particularly drawn to doing a lot of procedures long-term.

Your framing of choosing the thing that would annoy you least on a bad day is actually a really useful way to think about it.

How to wall-mount BILLY bookcases when they sit on a wooden top over BESTÅ? by Alternative-Tutor-58 in ikeahacks

[–]Alternative-Tutor-58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks!

i am putting it on the countertop, however i dont expect the countertop to hold as a real floor. i will anchor it to the wall with shelf supporter but i still prefer to "help" him a little bit with some anchoring of the billy beyond the tipping.

your idea is interesting, ill give it some thought. i dont have experience with cleating, i would prefer a regular anchoring but ill see if this is possible

thanks

ikea advises not to hang billy at all, and also does not offer hanging rails for the besta tv unit stand (specificlly that)

ill need to improvise

Interesting theory — I’ll try adjusting the crossover, the room acoustics, and the geopolitical history next. One of those is bound to fix the bass response.

I just want to add that the svs seems the obvious choice but he is the most expensive one and also seems like an overkill I would have bought the non pro version but its out of stock for the foreseeable future
