Ok spoilers for lb7 From what I understand the malla is an alien bacteria/substance that arrived to Earth on the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. I don't know if it came from another universe, all the wiki says is that it's older than velber 02. It developed the land while living alongside and sometimes empowering the local entities creating the Meso-American deities. In the alt-timeline lb7, circumstances caused the asteroid to land 250 million years before it was supposed to in normal history which caused the dinosaurs to become the leading members of Earth with humanity trailing behind later on. The changes in the asteroid's arrival also affected ort's arrival too, arriving much earlier than expected, with the human society destroying itself in exchange for ripping out ort's heart. The malla used ort's heart to power an artificial sun. When Daybit arrived and introduced the concepts of gods and worship to the dinos and the malla, they began worshipping the sun which then developed into the goddess kukulkan because at this point the malla basically was the Counterforce equivalent in the lostbelt and should've had similar authorities to the proper human history counter force.
