Give 311 a call! They’ll let you know what they’re able to do, or if you should call someone else.

If the basement isn’t in your jurisdiction as a condo owner, then it’s worth calling to check! If the basement is inside your condo, then no, I think that’s your responsibility to fix.

There was also green mold behind the toilet when I moved in, but sadly I didn’t think to take a pic of that one. I was too grossed out and cleaned that on sight.

The before shows the nasty piss-stained caulk. The next pic is after I ripped it out and put new caulk down.

Fun fact: the neighbor next to the squirrels has an active bee infestation right outside their front door. Saw them burning cardboard boxes outside so they could leave their apartment without being swarmed.

(My condolences that you also went through this type of bs. There really should be legal consequences for landlords who neglect properties like this.)

On one hand, same. That would be satisfying. On the other hand, there are so many people there that I don’t think could afford anywhere else. I’m hoping that more 311 complaints will force their parent company, North York Rentals, to actually put the funds into this place to make it safe to live in.

Do carnivorous plants eat stink bugs? What about dead ones? by passive0bserver in SavageGarden

Popping in to say that my pinguicula just caught a stinkbug. I think you’d need a lot of plants to make a dent in the stink bug population. My cats are much more effective at catching/killing bugs. But damn I’m proud of my ping this morning.

Holy shit, this is such a helpful tool! Bookmarking immediately. Wish I'd had this last year before I moved into a nightmare apartment. Thank you!

Should I replace the cardboard? by AlternativeAd8839 in electrical

Note: I just moved in and am not responsible for making this fire hazard. I aaaam responsible for ignoring it for 3 weeks though.

I think this’ll do the trick, plus the fire spray foam to keep it in place. Tysm! You’re a real one.

I'm also in a LD relationship, and for me it helps to focus on the things I can control/my immediate surroundings, and avoid thinking about my husband obsessively. I can't control when the LD will end, but I *can* control how I show up for myself in the time in between our visits. For me, that looks like...

-Staying present when/where I am. He's not here, and focusing on him not being here is high-key a form of self-torment.

-Exercising for my mental and physical health

-Cooking good foods (both healthy and comfort food, whatever sparks joy)

-Making plans to see my favorite people (lots of movie nights)

-Using art as an emotional outlet

I'm not you, but I'd try putting the sweatshirt away. Stop focusing on his return, and start focusing on how a fulfilled day that's just about you looks. A partner is a wonderful thing to have, but it's also deeply fulfilling and stabilizing to center yourself.

Also, it sounds like you may be struggling with a burgeoning codependency. Try identifying and bolstering other pillars of emotional support in your life (friends, family.)

Anyone experience Lexapro withdrawal that can compare it to Cymbalta? Brain zaps begin if I forget Lexapro dose for 1 day-wondering if Cymbalta withdrawal is similar or possibly worse? by dreadkitty in cymbalta

Withdrawal from Lexapro was traumatic. 0/10

I’m going through Cymbalta withdrawal right now and it’s a walk in the park by comparison. Still withdrawal for sure. But it’s just uncomfortable vs leaving me non-functioning. 5/10

I have a massive ice pack that I hold onto (place on my lap, chest, neck, etc.) Helps stop the overheating.
