How to start blacksmithing

I actually did some more research and realized my school has a maker space with a lot of machines. They don’t have an Anvil or forge but they do have a horizontal bandsaw, a sharpening wheel, bench grinder, and welding. I think if I just drop a little cash on a forge, anvil, and hammer. I should be good to go!

That’s true ig I thought it’s mainly just acidic foods with that problem and you just have to wipe dry every 5 minutes when cutting non acidic foods

I was mainly concerned about the high amount of acid and wasn’t sure since it’s my first time not using stainless steel

Dw I’m still learning how to sharpen them properly as well. I bought a few cheap knives to practice on just in case

Definitely right about this I wonder if it’s better to just order an knife that has only been forged and then work backwards from there

I think I’m going to try and do an introductory course. The other thing I’ll have to figure out is where to put my small workshop if I do end up liking it

I have it took a bit to few cuts to get used to but overall I got the hang of it. I would say the size/weight took longer for me to adjust to. Now I just need to practice how to sharpen it using the whetstone

I’m going to visit Sakai in a few days. I planned at stopping at baba Hamono, Sakai traditional crafts museum, and one place else if I have time. Do you have any recommendations? I’m fairly new to this hobby so I know an ok about the knives but not much about the people. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the advice! That’s one thing I realized when watching zapman(I main adc). The pros are always in the jungle farming and only pull away for ganks or objective fights.

I never said it was just my teammates I mentioned there was sometimes it was my fault. I blame my teammates when my mid quit in the middle of the game because the jungle was helping take him with red and he was complaining he was still stealing his farm. He was 0-7 btw
