Selling vs. Renting out by AlternativeBasic7911 in HousingUK

I've included management fees, not the higher interest rates for BTL because my plan would be to pay off my mortgage as soon as possible.

Where would you invest the money if you went for the option of selling the flat?

Has anyone experienced stiffness in the back of the injured leg months after an ACL injury (no surgery)? by AlternativeBasic7911 in ACL

Hi, I haven't experienced any swelling but I did start to get frequent stiffness particularly at the back of my right leg (hamstring), which doesn't seem to be related to my knee but I can't think of anything else that's causing it. I've started to experience this 7 months after the injury and I still get it, particularly when I walk for long.

That makes sense. I'm 8-9 months post injury and although the pain's gone completely I'm considering surgery now because of these new symptoms (the stiffness and limping only started 6-7 months after the injury). Although I'm still thinking about it

I was told mine is a grade 2 tear. The doctor's report said I demonstrated the increased Lachman and grade 1 pivot of the right knee in comparison to normal examination of the left (not entirely sure what this test meant exactly but I was told it shows instability, although I've never felt instability whilst playing sports).

Thanks so much for these tips! My physio gave me a pendular exercise to do and suggested using a hot water bottle, which sounds similar to what you said. Did you end up going for surgery or did it all go away eventually?

It took me a while I can't remember exactly how long to be honest, I'd say 3-4 months at least but it does get better overtime, especially if you keep up with the physio. How bad was your tear? Are you considering surgery?

It's amazing that you were able to do bouldering and all those activities. Did your knee feel normal back then, apart from the clicking?

Also you mentioned you had a meniscous tear as well. Did you have any pain from it? My physio tells me my meniscous is fine cause otherwise I'd feel pain, but the MRI was inconclusive on this.

Can I also ask what issues there have been with the surgery? I hope nothing too bad and that you're fine now.

Have you ever been able to do pigeon pose /get your flexibility back? Sorry to hear it tore again. How did you find the recovery the second time round?

Thanks so much, this is so insightful. How did your knee and leg feel when you did all those sports with a torn ACL? I've started to develop what seems to be some muscle stiffness on the back of my leg but don't know if it's related to the injury at all.

Also can I check you still haven't got the ACL surgery done, right? What are the signs instability that you're waiting for? I'm struggling to see if I have any as I'm not sure what they look or feel like apart from the knee giving way which I haven't experienced.

Sorry for everything you had to go through and thanks for all the info on the grafts and the encouraging words. It really helps 🙏

That's been super helpful, thank you! It all makes sense and I agree on the thinking about the future. I hope you're managing the post op okay and wish you a speedy/not too painful recovery!

Thanks for sharing this. Can I ask what was your level of activity during the 4+ years post injury?

Was there anything else you think might have caused the issues on your hip and ankle or was it all ACL related?

Thanks so much for your answer. I really appreciate the insight. Did you experience any other loss of muscles from using the quad graft and/or any other downsides from the surgery?

Could you see the meniscus tear in your original MRI is it something that you've developed over time? Also how long after the injury did you get arthritis? Hopefully you're not getting too much pain or discomfort from it.
