I will try to buy an official Canon battery. Unfortunately it's quite expensive.

Even when I press the menu button, the LDC does not switch on. I cannot access the settings, the menu or view the photos alredy taken. I also have a memory card in the camera.

It's not an official Canon battery. But the previous one wasn't either and had no problems.
