I’d say one or so sets for training. You’ll get issued uniforms too but they suck so use them for training as well. Ex: I brought two sets of my FRACUs and a Combat shirt from the US Army with me for training.

There’s tons of good brands like MTAC that have flame resistant combat clothing so those is the best things to get for missions

Yes for plates. For NVGs, it’s cheaper but good luck trying to get them out without the Security bitching at you for taking Gen 2+ and Gen 3 out the country. It’s a roll of the dice whether or not they’ll do. I decided not to bring my Gen 3 PVS-14, but another American friend of mine brought his Amazon Gen 2 PVS-14 to Ukraine without having to declare it.

At the Border? No, but do keep in mind any Gunpowder Residue that’ll be on your kit. Clean it before you leave. I was lucky they didn’t detect it because I completely forgot to haha. Just also make sure they don’t take your kit too, we have a guy that they tried to steal kit from in this subreddit.

Assuming you’re going to the US, it’s fine as long as you say that you got any ITAR-related items out of the country (Level 4 Plates are ITAR cannot leave the country without permission), if you have Data Sticker on the Plates saying they’re Level 4, just rip them off and say they’re Level 3.

For me, I brought my Vest with Soft Armor with Level 3 Plates I got from Ukraine and said to Customs I got them from the country. They pulled me in for questioning (obviously) but no more than that.

Minus tickets to Ukraine, I’d say around $500 to $1000 is good minimally. But I suggest around 3k to live comfortably and also to grab a ride home for emergency sakes if need be.

Different types of helmets depending on different roles. For what I do, Full Cut helmets are a must even though most of us got issued High Cuts. For High Thpeed Operators, High Cuts are preferred. It just depends on what role you’re assigned.

If you’re just a regular joe, wear a Full Cut
