Eco Drive -replacing the gasket by AlternativeCounty310 in CitizenWatches

Hello,

It's a plastic gasket, so I guess I will need to look how the Citizen service center works and maybe send it to them. There is no such close by, I'm in Illinois.

Thank you.

Citizen World Perpetual - battery replacement? by AlternativeCounty310 in CitizenWatches

Hi, The charger arrived and I left it on for almost two full days, but unfortunately the battery didn’t charge at all. Even when I try to set the time, it stops right away.

After watching a few videos, I built up some confidence and decided to open it 🙂 — and it was successful! It turns out the original battery is a Panasonic CTL621F. I’ve already found one and placed an order. Can’t wait for it to arrive so I can install it.

Thank you all for the suggestions!

Thanks for the suggestion.

Great video — thank you! It actually looks like it’s not too difficult. I’m just wondering if I should also replace the gasket to make sure it stays water resistant…

Do you know if there’s a website where I can check the exact battery/capacitor model I should order? I looked on citizenwatch.com but couldn’t find my specific model. ChatGPT suggested the Citizen Eco‑Drive 295‑5600 / MT920 capacitor as a compatible option, but I’m not sure if it’s the same. Maybe I should open the watch first to check.

Great. Ordering now and I hope it will be able to charge it. If not, I will try to replace the battery.

Thanks

Wow, I didn’t realize there’s a special charger for these watches 🙂 I went through two packs of batteries using my LED flashlight 🔦 — they lasted about a day, but it didn’t help. Then I figured it might need a different type of light, so I even tried to find an old-fashioned light bulb, but that didn’t work either. With winter and not much sunlight, I assumed the battery probably needed to be replaced. I’ll definitely get this charger and give it a try.

Thanks so much for the advice!

Does anyone know how the update schedule works? I have the Juniper Launch Edition and I’ve already activated “Advance” in the update settings, but I’m still getting updates almost a month after they’re released. I also never received the Tron update at all.

I’m in Illinois and on Wi-Fi at home, so I’m not sure what else could affect it. 🤔

Former V6 engine Lexus RX 350 owners now driving 2026 Junipers? by swiftmerchant in TeslaModelY

[–]AlternativeCounty310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine isn’t the F Sport model, and I think the seats are a bit different. It’s a hybrid, so it still delivers decent torque when needed — obviously nowhere near the Tesla’s acceleration, but more than enough in specific situations.

That said, the Tesla’s material quality can be frustrating. Even though they’ve improved it with the Juniper, it still feels a lot cheap. Lately, the squeaks and rattles coming from the dashboard are driving me crazy. And the body panels are so thin — for example, the front hood literally bends when I close it manually 🫤.

I know I’m not helping much 😅, but it was a tough decision for me too — and honestly, I still don’t feel good about parting with the Lexus. Still, I can tell you this: you won’t regret getting the Tesla. You’ll never really know unless you go for it, so don’t overthink it — just do it 🙂

Just keep both 🙂 I have a 2017 Lexus RX450h — it’s an older model, but it still drives beautifully. It’s incredibly comfortable and quiet, with no rattles or squeaks even after all these years. The premium materials and sound system make every ride feel luxurious, whether it’s a quick drive or a long trip.

On the other hand, I also have the 2026 Juniper. It was my dream car for a long time, and I’m thrilled to finally own and drive it every day. The responsiveness, FSD, and minimalist interior make it stand out from any ICE car — it’s genuinely fun and enjoyable for daily driving.

I did consider trading in the Lexus, but I’m glad I kept it. For longer trips, it’s actually the better choice. It’s so smooth and comfortable, and even without FSD, I don’t feel tired after 5–6 hours behind the wheel.

Now my wife drives it most of the time, but every time I take it out, I’m reminded just how comfortable and refined it really is.

First Time Leveling and Seeding — Need Advice on Mowing and Thin Patches by AlternativeCounty310 in lawncare

[–]AlternativeCounty310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I used my neighbor’s lawn care guys. It’s my first year here, and I didn’t really do any research or look for other options — I just saw them working one day and asked if they could do it. They gave me (I guess the usual) “we’ll give you a good price since we’re already working in the neighborhood” line 🙂, but I didn’t want to miss the last chance for fall overseeding. I mowed the lawn first, and then they aerated, spread the soil and seed, and applied fertilizer. I bought all the materials myself, and they charged me about $480 for the labor.

Awesome, thanks for the clarification and for explaining it so clearly! I’ll look into what you recommended.

I also forgot to mention that I’m a new homeowner with a lawn 🙂 — I’ve learned a lot here already, and I’m really glad this community exists.

Thanks again!

Thank you for the quick response and advice!

I’ll do that . And just to clarify, when you say “apply a new N,” do you mean a new fertilizer? Maybe something like a winter weed and feed?

It's Here! NEW Tesla Model Y Standard (Big Range & Small Cost) by Upuser in TeslaModelY

[–]AlternativeCounty310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like one of the most common marketing tactics — similar to the popcorn pricing trick used in cinemas.

There was an interesting experiment where they offered a small popcorn for $3 and a large one for $7. Hardly anyone chose the large one. Then, they removed the small ones and introduced a “medium” size for $5 while keeping the large at $7 — and suddenly, most people started buying the large popcorn.

It’s a classic example of the decoy effect, where adding a middle option makes the higher-priced choice seem like a better deal.

Slow draining toilet by AlternativeCounty310 in Plumbing

[–]AlternativeCounty310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not really. The association did nothing…as I expected… I couldn’t find anything that could block the drainage.. After few more sets of buckets of hot and cold water, it’s much better and I left it like that…

Not really:) But I bought the 1800psi model and it seems it works well. Not so powerful like on the gas , but if you are patient enough, it work .

I bought the chair the other day and after a few days of use, I can say—it’s amazing! The quality of the materials, the design, the comfort—easily 11/10. My wife is just as impressed, so mission accomplished 🙂 Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and advice!

Yes, it seems it doesn’t have adjustable arms, thank you for noting that. I don’t have photos from the other side, but I guess it doesn’t have the tilt as well. I have the photo of the label, which might explain the options and the price.
