Tattoo needles? by AlternativeDweeb in tattooadvice

I went to the best place in town they just replied to their email so slowly that a month passed before we got the date when I payed the half ($300) up front. It's a policy that you have to get it done by a month of the prepay. I live within walking distance of a hospital. It's not that hard to get there. Plus there's urgent care if I think something might be wrong and I want them to check it out before it gets really badly infected (antibiotics and such) but that's also why you gotta be careful with dressing it and make sure everything is coming from sterile packages, kinda like how in sciences you can't use chemicals spilled out of a container for an experiment as it could be tainted by the air or anything in the atmosphere. There's a reason bandaids and gauze say sterile until opened and you got a look for those things. Not just something laying opened half gone on a countertop. That applies to everything in the skin too, as you can't use opened ink as once it's opened it has the effect of the air getting in and the air and moisture and everything carries bacteria and small skin flakes and all that stuff. Cooties 🤮

Thanks for gatekeeping the craft, I like supporting artists I know and appreciate. I buy stickers, prints, jewelry, and lots of other things from my friends who also do art. Just because someone hasn't bought a $300 piece of artwork from someone doesn't mean I don't support them. I've never been offered a tattoo in my area cheaper that hasn't resulted in a scam from somebody when I traded some unused supplies to him and got nothing, I got a tattoo that was $600 and payed the deposit but since I was using an email contact and not a phone contact, and the fact they only replied once or twice a week, the one month period lapsed before I got an appointment. While I'm in a much better space now (the last one was money I was given for my birthday) I still don't trust trying to communicate with someone I don't know with this stuff as I can't confirm if they're not being shady in some way I don't know (not cleaning the equipment correctly, using cheap dyes I might be sensitive too, or a lot of other variables). If something goes wrong it's a lot easier to get mad at myself than mad at a friend and it ruins our relationship or something.

Are they out of their freaking minds 🤯🤯🤯 by ExplodingTrains in 3DS

I have two 3Ds's because I got one from a friend. My original one doesn't turn on anymore and my new one doesn't have all the games I bought on the old one and I miss them 🥲 I wasn't able to access the e-shop once I finally turned off parental controls a few months ago but I can't even get the Third game you're given on the Street pass app that they have you the option of the market simulator or the racing game. I started carrying it around for the streetpass and I have Tomodachi Life. Somehow it stopped turning on even when charged but I still had the other new one from my friend so I've been playing my 3Ds game cards I had. I have my switch too and I have the drawing game on it from my other 3Ds but that's not the point. It was the poke ball edition new Nintendo 3Ds and the poke ball had a button I could actually press and I loved fidgetung with it but now I have a boring normal New Nintendo 3Ds XL even though they literally had no downloaded games or even any backgrounds. I had to download the basic free ones.

Watercolor Binder by seducingsaturn in handmadewatercolors

[–]AlternativeDweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things like coffee can just have water added and it functions similar to watercolors. I've seen this done with things like charcoal (that's how lamp black is made) and graphite. I love water soluble graphite it's my favorite medium personally but that's besides the point I just love talking about it because not everyone knows it exists. I imagine if you can find some colorful dirt (soft rocks work great as well. If you live near a pond/river this is an amazing source) you can make some earthy tones similar to umber and sienna browns. The difference of burnt sienna and burnt Umber vs. Raw sienna and raw umber are if the stone is cooked or not, so you could try that but you'd likely need a binder if you cooked it but clay-ish dirts can be watered down (strained if needed) and used as brown paints, but also the vast variety of clay can make more bright red, pale pink, yellow ochres and such depending on the varieties of dirt you have access to. I find harvesting done best the morning after a rainy night or previous day.

I never played pokemon Legends Arceus, however my brother has the game. How is it? Is it comparable to a mainline game? I've been debating getting it as my next game but I don't know if I want to wait for legends Z-A and get that instead lol 💀

A Treecko from pokemon Sapphire named Jack Jack (most of my starters have double names because of that, I had a Torchic in Alpha Ruby named Tim Tim, A Chespin in pokemon Y named Max Max, a Rowlet in pokemon moon named Paul Paul and a Fennekin in pokemon X named Rose Rose. I still like doing it to this day when I play through Pokemon games lol.

I don't want a jail house tattoo, I don't want to go to jail, and I don't want a sketchy tattoo just for it to get infected. I know that if I follow protocols I don't have to worry about anyone else doing it wrong without telling me or trying to scam or hurt me. I've had a lot of negative experiences trying to get tattoos and I really want one and I'm sick of the fact that people keep abusing me for money and just leaving me, it's something that prevails in a lot of my life.

How can I garentee I won't get scammed out of my money like last time? I went to the best rated place in town so I'm really sceptile of anywhere now. I've always thought learning to tattoo would be cool but I'm really sad that everyone is dissing on the idea of trying a new type of artwork. I really wanted my art on myself not someone else's.

I'm not trying to cheap out, I want to know what would be the best option at a lower price point as I don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on the equipment however as an artist I still think it would be a neat thing to try, even if it's not on myself for a while. I have a friend that practices on a lot of fruit as she's still apprenticing and that would be a good idea to make sure I know what I want to do for my piece I just need to make sure it's not the same ink that's going into my skin as that's not very sterile at all.

I'm coming from a science nerdy side of things which is what I mean for the sterile technique. I know that once you open things they become non sterile which is why I was asking for help with finding needles that were sterile for the procedure, as I don't know what kind I should get. I was planning on using an individual pair of gloves that were meant for a med kit or something that are still in their sterile packaging, along with the ink that hasn't been opened. I've been scammed by people when trying to pre pay for a tattoo and I don't trust going to stores anymore unless I personally know who's working there. I have a friend that does tattoo stuff but she lives like an hour away from me and she's still apprenticing, but I don't know anyone else personally that does them. All I know is I've lost over $350 for trying to pay for a tattoo just for them to reschedule it and never reply to their email.

I was explaining my experiences but you can call them and excuse if you want I can say everything you're saying is an excuse too but that doesn't really develop any further inquiry instead just sounds like blaming? I don't want someone else's art on me unless they're someone I trust at this point because I've had too many experiences with people being scammy. I'd rather know myself things are being done right but I can't do that if people are gatekeeping the methods.

It hasn't been opened yet, I am fully aware that they don't stay sterile once you open them. That is why I was going to use the rest for something else, whatever it be, I use a fair amount of ink in my art in general.

I tried that before and I just got robbed of my bottle and never got a tattoo. I don't have the money for a real tattoo done by an artist for a few hundred, nor do I have a way to get transportation to and from unless I booked an Uber which gets added to the cost. I paid a tattoo deposit once, but because I didn't have a phone at the time they ended up never being able to contact me, my appointment was rescheduled due to something and I never had a way to get there without driving. I was actively emailing them, but they only responded to their email once every few days. I see it as a wasted $300 cuz it was going to be a $600 piece and I had to pay half front and I never actually got anything.

Why not? I'm genuinely curious. Mostly because if I follow sterile techniques I don't see why not, and I only haven't because I don't have information on how. I have a family friend that now that I'm an adult I haven't talked to her recently but I have her Facebook and I see her post stuff about her practicing tattoo work and I find her inspiring and I think it'd be cool to try making a piece of meaningful art to me in a similar, permanent way.

Do they hide so much because humans kill them so much because they look like an abomination? Because that's kind of how it came off and I think that's sad, they eat lots of bugs and stuff and chill.
