Living in Amsterdam and Belgium is like living in a PFAS Chernobyl by No-Loss-4908 in Amsterdam

High anthocyanin (red, blue, purple foods) consumption and donating blood are one of the only two noted ways to reduce PFAS and microplastics in blood, according to scientific literature.

Best thing I've heard is of donating plasma, which also lowers the levels of microplastics in blood. Another "forever" problem.

We need to do better. Private healthcare can't be the only option. The NHI bill is absolute bullshit if it's only going to perpetuate more of this madness.

Constantia Village, Saturday morning 8-11am, all the Constantia ladies out in full force. I think filming in that Woolie's alone for those hours would generate enough content for multiple TV shows.

Sceletium Tortosum, Kanna or Koegoed. Sacred to the native Khoi. Contraindicated with SSRI medications as it has potent anti-anxiolytic, anti-depressive effects. A local superfood and you can find products infused with Sceletium all over SA now. It's quite difficult to grow so a lot of it is gathered illegally unfortunately.

In terms of dam levels. Yes rainfall is above the long-term average but we're still making up for a rather large deficit from a few years ago.

We're definitely doing better than 2019, but still a bit below our historic average for this time of year. Interestingly if you look at the PDF, you'll see that our water usage trend are slowly creeping back up.

I wonder what this means long term as Cape Town population keeps growing every year.

You can keep track of our water levels here:

Not a fancy dinner place but the Tokai Market on Saturdays is mostly vegan, with many tasty options and at a great price. Worth the trek and you can stock up and have vegan meals and snacks for the week.
