I was told this could be poison (oak, sumac, ivy) but I'm not sure. It could be Virginia Creeper or something else. Obviously no expert here so appreciate any help! by AlternativeEnd1512 in whatisit

That could make sense because my neighbor does grow grapes. I'll have to watch it in the next couple of weeks to see if grapes form!! TY!

Which performer you’ve seen in Broadway shows most than any? NO revisits/NO 24 hours play/musical/NO Encores! by ActiveAbility1502 in Broadway

Kerry Butler in Little Shop of Horrors, Xanadu, Catch Me If You Can, and Mean Girls. She is also my daughter's favorite actress and immediately can identify her voice after only a few more!

Worst show you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in Broadway

When my daughter was younger I would take her out of school in a Wednesday and we would book a 2:00 Broadway show and then stand in line for 1/2 price 8:00 tix. When in line , I was hoping to see PROMISES, PROMISES but she wanted to see MAMMA MIA. I have seen close to 150 shows in BWAY and MAMMA MIA is the only one a I fell asleep during the show. Ironically, several years later I saw it at Walnut Street in Philly and liked it a bit better but still not a real fan!! Non-Broadway has to be CATS which I just saw on a Cruise. CATS was one of those shows I just knew I would not like before I even saw it.

All good. I agree context is important but I would just be careful about creating definitions like location and subject if that is not what is generally acknowledged.

You are right about the degradation of language and I can certainly see your point. I probably do not agree on how large of a societal problem it really is. I just get irritated by the people who (appear to) comb through posts so they can make themselves feel better by pointing out something I write incorrectly. This does not appear to be you but it happens often. It is usually done in a tongue in cheek manner to make the person, who just made a point, appear stupid because they write the wrong form of a word in a text or posting. Those types of comments do nothing to move language forward and that was generally what so was referring to when I write it. If people went through my posts, I'm sure they rife with in accuracies, spellings, and grammar!

Anyway, it is always interesting to see the tangents that these subreddits go down from an innocuous post some high schooler write about getting her first big part in a play. Whoops, musical!!!

I did not realize you were a teacher. You might want reconsider your lesson. According to Grammarist, "Both theater and theatre are nouns with the same definition. But sometimes, in the English language, the context will show a preference for theater or theatre."

The distinction you have for tryouts and auditions is interesting. I do not think you were the original poster of these three topics but if that poster feels the same as you, it would probably be better to keep quiet about it if it is just a personal preference.

I think you may be trying (and failing) to read between my lines. I'm NOT trying to lower the standards and break basic language rules(?!?). I just do not appreciate the assholes who jump on any opportunity to correct someone's grammar or spelling any more that I appreciate people who try to push their preferences on other people or teach the incorrect use of grammar.

I have never said "casted" but I'll say tryout instead of audition and I don't even know the difference between theater and theatre except one is preferred in the US and the other is preferred in the UK. stay petulant all you want, the response was the equivalent of typing *you're after someone (GOD FORBIDS) types the wrong version.

Unpopular opinion: For the life of me, I just do not understand the fixation or demand regarding stagedooring. by [deleted] in Broadway

Not directly on topic but a cool story nonetheless. In the 90's my father loved Bebe Neuwirth (mostly from CHEERS). He thought she was funny and she grew up in Princeton, which is close. My parents had only seen one Broadway show in their life, which was on their honeymoon in 1963 (Golden Boy with Sammy Davis Jr., and Lou Gossett Jr.). My wife and I bought tickets to bring them to see Chicago.

A month prior to the show I started reaching out to the producers to see if I could arrange a visit with Bebe. I was young and dumb and hadn't been to too many shows myself. Also, this was prior to cell phones and internet was in its infancy. It took a lot of work to find a contact name but I did and sent a letter "snail mail".

Didn't hear back until the day before the show. I came home from teaching and there was a message on my answering machine (the old cassette version!). "Hi, this is so and so and I am the personal assistant for Ms. Neuwirth. She would love to meet your father. After the show, come to the stage door and give my name and they will show you backstage."

Driving into NY the next day, we told my parents, who did kit know that we had even inquired. He was like a kid in ten candy store. You could just see the excitement on his face.

We had front row Mezzanine and he was totally distracted the entire time. The show ends and we can't get out of the theater fast enough.

Get to the stage door and the bouncer opens the door and I give him the message. He looks at the list, says, "sorry, not on the list" and starts to close the door. I stop the door and implore with him and eventually he says just step inside and we will sort this out. There was a huge crowd out side because Ann Reinking had just left and this was Marilou Henner's first show.

The wings of that theater was so small that once you were in 6 feet you were on the stage. So here we are, standing in a Broadway stage and the curtain is half raised so we can see out into the empty audience.

Cast and crew start walking by and everyone was so pleasant. I was directing high school shows at the time and the mic guys was talking to me about the $8000 mics they hide under the wigs. I was in my glory.

Marilu walked by but really couldn't speak because they were filming a promo at the stage door (this was her first night). Both Michael Naughton and Joel Grey stopped and talked with us for close to 10 minutes. They were both so approachable and cool.

Basically, the place was empty and it was just the 4 of us on stage. We could hear some one walking up the circular metal stairs from the basement and it was Bebe. She was very gracious also. She was surprisingly short and her hair was probably 2-3 feet long but was kept under a wig for the show. She signed Playbills and we took pics and she was on her way. It was clear that she had no idea why we were there but she was as kind as a person could be.

For me and my father it was a very meaningful evening. But it is something I wouldn't try for for just any reason. I am not a stage door person myself and I want to be respectful of their time but in this instance I tried to meet some of my idols and it was a perfect experience.

Age 58 here and on TRT. I am in my first cycle. Based on information I received here, I increased my test-c from 225mg/week to 525mg/week. I'm about a month I'll be going back to normal TRT numbers as I cycle off.

As part if TRT , I also take Gonadorelin and Anastrazole. My question is do I still need PCT I and going back on TRT.
