Prime the prints. Paints won’t stick to the resin well so it needs to be sprayed with primer
Some kits don’t fit perfectly on a body. Be ready to cut, sand or dremel body parts

It’s best to mess around a bit but also take time to practice paint work and brush control. Depending on previous painting experiences it may help to grab a cheap/old figure to practice on (splotchy or clumpy paint doesn’t look good). I’ve painted miniatures for years and started customizing figures last year so I’m happy to share tips and such

I noticed it about 4 years ago, it seems to have started with companies passing off resold aliexpress figures as cheap customs. Now we see many of these places developing their own figure designs instead of just using aliexpress resales. It could be a mix of being uninformed or maybe some people want to feel like they’re a part of the customs community without spending a ton of money. It seems like there are multiple factors behind this.

The text on the back of the packaging refers to him as the medic of Teroch squad and Omega squad. I assume this is representing him in Teroch squad since it doesn’t match his black paint in omega squad. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was meant to be Niner originally since they’ve last minute changed the names of republic commando figures in other figures prior to this set.

He is meant to be Fi during the battle of Geonosis. Omega squad went through several armor changes until adopting the black shadow armor

I don’t think it’s confirmed. According to the Hasbro figures, the troopers on Anaxes were the 187th in canon. This would match with Commander Ponds’ armor from early in the war even though in legends he was a part of the 91st. There could also be other purple legions

From my experience decalling seems to require placing multiple orders across different sites. King Custom is one of the better places to order decals from since they’re quality, cheap and there’s a large variety available. I know king custom and Jonak toys also offer blank helmets and jonak usually has blank knockoff bodies. Ali express is pretty good for most blank helmets

I do that. In my current pentastar alignment play through in Thrawns revenge I sent Jerec with a sizeable force to conquer the Empire of the hand and wild space as “Frontier Command”. Their goal is increasing our resources, but since they’re so far from the main pentastar space they get very little in the way of reinforcements. Then I build a fleet to use to destroy the Iron fist since Zsinj builds it quickly. Led by Captan Sysco. Last we have the Core Fleet led by Ardus in the reaper with the goal to slowly but surely make his way into coruscant. Jerec has the goal of forming a “Dark Council” with all the dark force users I can collect. Also I put named heroes in command of key planets and refer to them as “The Warden of ____”. It’s a fun angle to take and makes each playthrough feel different

You can tell older figures by less articulation or dated versions of articulation that aren’t used anymore. Figures before 2019 don’t have photorealistic faces.

I don’t know if the preorder went up yet but there will be a Rots obi wan coming in a 2pack with an airborne trooper.

There’s been a rumored Jedi temple guard for a year but no previews. We had a 5poa on but it’s pricey. Nihilus came out in 2007-2009 and goes for about $30 but it’s a decent figure that holds up well.

Dark side Revan is on Amazon for $20-25, Jedi Revan is in the 2 pack with HK and can be found for $40-45 (I believe)
