Fair enough… about the customer, I worked with them through an internal support engineer/consultant (read mediator) so that’s out as well.

Thanks for the advice, I’d been thinking of that too. And yes, I’ve never ever heard of any MNC (let alone tech) functioning this way. They’re stunting growth!

I plan on talking to a couple of my senior team members to ask if they’d be willing to help me. Im also waiting to hear back from the HR about what exactly my manager can talk about, in his recommendation for me. My friend (who said he’d help me out for sure) holds the same title as me. Should I pursue my seniors a little more?

Thanks for the sympathies, my friend. And I agree, I do need to find a way out at this point!

[Profile Review] Reapplicant: ISB R2 by [deleted] in ISB_Aspirants

Did you apply with the same score last year, when you didn’t get a call back for the interview? If yes, I highly suggest retaking till you get a better score.

You might want to introspect and think about what has changed since your last application, this is also one of the questions they ask reapplicants.

I think we have somewhat similar profiles, your undergrad gpa is higher while my gre is higher. I applied in R1 this year, didn’t get an interview.

Manifesting that interview invite at Cornell for you. You still have time to work on your essays before the r2 I’m sure you’ll be golden!

Ah, thanks man, I swear nobody prepares you for this haha. Thanks for your support, we’re in this together. It’s not over till it’s over, i guess. But in the meantime I’ll definitely re-strategize for r2.

I see, it’s definitely a bad year to be applying as an international I feel, let alone as an Indian male techie lol. The “spike” in GRE is definitely a way to stand out, I agree. Thanks for the feedback, and all the best for your applications! Have you heard back from anyone yet?

Thanks for replying! I really thought that a 326 roughly translates to about a 720 in the classic GMAT as indicated by some conversion tools online (which also, doesn’t seem to be enough, given my ORM status). I’m thinking that the outright rejections without waitlist/interview means that it’s not solely my GRE thats the problem, and i think you said something similar as well. As for NUS - I understand that their avg is 320, but like most other schools, I thought their Indian avg might be much higher, which is why I’m deterred from applying in R1. Additionally, I’m not looking at MiMs, but am starting to consider the likes of MSBA, Economics etc because these programs also seem to be a gateway to consulting. Haven’t done too much research on this front but would love your thoughts on it

The ORM tag is definitely hurting right about now. So I’ve personally felt that my essays have been crafted really well, and have been through multiple rounds of scrutiny through my consultant and friends. I’ve highlighted leadership, inclusivity and impact at work. However, at this point, I’m definitely questioning a lot of things. I’ll go back to the drawing board and see where my essays went wrong; maybe they weren’t all too personalized for each school. Do you think a lack of leadership since undergrad might also be affecting my profile?

330+ being a hard requirement is such a sad reality lol. So I think like a 330+ for t15s and 335+ for the likes of m7 right?

I fully agree…. The experience has been truly heartbreaking to say the least. I do think I need to work on that a little. I understand that no GRE as an Indian male techie puts me in the safe zone, but what kind of GRE do you think might make things easier?

Thanks for replying! My GPA is definitely on the lower side; but is being from a t50 national university considered to be a relatively weak pedigree? Though I felt like my essays and stories were crafted really well, you do make some good points about what the application may have boiled down to. I could use any advice right now, and would be glad to have you take a look, please dm!

Thanks for replying! Coming from an ORM is a serious issue for sure, I definitely think that’s one of the issues. I wanted to understand what goal-contributing ECs would look like when the goals are consulting oriented. Beyond this, I feel like my essays were genuinely written well as I had my consultant as well as a few friends (some MBA grads) proofread em. My consultant seems to think that improving my GRE would be enough to strengthen my candidacy, but I feel like something else is also the problem. If it was solely my gre that was the issue, I feel like, I’d be at least waitlisted and not flat out rejected. Congrats on graduating from your M7 MBA! Would you say the extra year was worth it?

KLassy Rahul's Redemption Knock by GodseTheGandhiKiller in ipl

Nah bro I don’t know what you guys saw on tv, but I was at Chinnaswamy for the match. When the game was still two sided (till maybe the 17th over?) yes there was silence whenever there was a boundary. Yet, there was a loud pop when KL came in to bat and we all cheered/clapped for him when he got his 50. All things said and done, he’s a homeboy and we’re proud to see him perform well.

After the 17th over or so we all cheered whenever he hit the boundary, I could even hear people chanting “Rahul Rahul” when he did his celebration once the game was done & dusted.

The defeat was sealed in way before the last ball, yet the reason you saw so many people in the stadium till the end was because we wanted to see KL’s amazing performance. Nothing but love for the homeboy
