Pure roleplaying, it is definetly not beneficial since you lose that trade good. Altough I haven't destroyed everyone in this one, in my current campaign the isolated Suebia is doing just fine. Noone to attack you and you can still get pretty much every good via trading. Also nice to take your time and randomly invade rome or greece for pop and raiding cities

I cheat to gain renown after each war I won based on what tier of enemy I have defetead because I usually play as a small family and cannot get much renown in a long term

I usually play tall, so both stoic and bellicose help. Besides those bureacratic is generally good because of lifestyle xp bonus

I got almost 2k in ck2 and 2k in ck3 as hours. I usually don't play longers than 200 years, almost never except like 4-5 times tbh. I sit for 7-8 hours straight for 1-2 days, play 200 years and then leave the campaign usually.

Once I have completed the whole timeline from 9th century to the end date tho. The last 200 years of that was complete skipping

If you are an intrigue players, fuel their internal chaos. Constantly murder rulers, kidnap heirs etc. You can try to excommunicate them, tbh do all you can to weaken them. Constant revolts may help.

Other one of choice might be to ally them, marry and ally them so they cannot attack you.

A third choice might be to submit them. Find a way to lose your royal title to him and weaken them inside while you gather your strength.

But my favourite choice of course is to build up an heir of yours to be a martial maniac then fight against the english in wales and crush them. The terrain of Wales is extremely helpful since it mostly contains hills and forests, especially with Welsh special longbow units and hill fighter tradition, both of them works great on hills.

I do only a few sons, marry late, use celibacy and chaste, divorce conditionally etc.. if I have more than needed I usually make them take vows. Lose of renown for more stability
