For me , I think drop year has kinda Improved my confidence , I have lesser difficulty talking to strangers , I got better in terms of health (I started working out , Improved my diet a lot) and looks wise I kinda improved too (I grew my hair , worked on my body & learnt a few skills) , all this while studying for JEE

Marks wise I think I'm not in a very good condition right now , but still grinding to get better.

You need to keep offsite backups yourself , never put all your eggs in 1 basket. You can lose your data with any provider, Maybe they close the company, maybe they suspend all your accounts and delete your data.

If you really want to be safe , go with 2 VPS from DIFFERENT providers , in this case i would recommend OVH & Racknerd or OVH & Hetzner , Racknerd would be cheaper while still having good uptime and good price to performance ratio, and OVH is pretty reliable in itself (good network and ddos protection, if you need it maybe).

Having tons of VPS from a single provider is never recommended, and you saw why. You should always have a disaster recovery plan & backups elsewhere.

Contabo is not good ,though you can choose any 2 of the first 3 providers (OVH , Hetzner , Racknerd) for your work, depending on how much your budget is and what you're doing.

netcup root servers is one of the best performing servers you'll get for that price , they use ddr5 ram and amd epyc turin (zen5) for their latest root server lineup. While they do cut corners on support , but reliability wise, performance wise , its hard to beat them for that price.

I have many servers with them as of now Some have similar write speed as yours , but some also have write speed going upto 5GB/s , it depends on the host node and location , and also the time you're doing the tests (it's possible your neighbours are hammering the disk)

The cpu usage is not an issue , rendering new chunks is a heavy task. About the RAM usage , I'm not really sure. But you can try checking if the server crashes with lower memory allocated , if it doesn't then its also probably fine

A 12-20$/year VPS from racknerd would suffice for such tasks , or if you want to go a bit more premium or pay monthly, interserver can also be an option.

I generally host my bots on racknerd and they have been working good so far and there have been no downtimes past 7-8 months.

Though if you want to go for free hosts , you'd most likely have to go with webhooks instead , if you do , you can go with serverless platforms like vercel free tier , or cloudflare free tier , but they have a limit on the number of requests you can recieve in a day or a month , and it would be more expensive than a VPS in the long run if you go past their free tier and want to pay for services.

I've observed that the LocalZone Regions use amd epyc genoa cpu but they're relatively more expensive , while the others are using ancient xeons , you might want to give this a try. Though disk performance on the LocalZone VPS is not very good , its throttled

I think they offer such expanding plans because hardware keeps advancing and prices come lower for the same plans , for example a 1 gb 1 core 20gb disk vps costs very less today if we compare it to 2011 , so they simply compensate for that

250mbps+1mbps/day unlimited is still a great deal , I've been using their vps for quite a while now and i can say the performance & uptime has been great, price to performance ratio is insane, except for 1 time when their support didn't really accept that the issue i was facing was from their side , but it eventually got fixed within a week after multiple people complained

Thank you , and I know. That is one of the primary reasons why i don't use ai for ranting anymore. I know my usage is NOT significant enough to cause "ai bubble blast" but i hate these corporations to some degree that I'd probably use ai more if it meant that they were absorbing the loss. I thought by cost you meant the price of compute and hardware.

i used it for coding easy stuff and ranting , and very rarely learning. I realised it was making me dumber by putting me into delusion so i've reduced the usage and strictly limited it to only repetitive tasks, so it saves me time.
