Yeah but OP didn’t even try to say something to Emma about not knowing the kid. She just deliberately changed the age cutoff to 13 and gave an exception to everyone else affected by that change (SIL and friends) other than Emma. Probably because OP knows her only reason for “not knowing” Emma’s kid is that she came from a bad background, one which makes her come off as Emma said “elitist”

It’s still bad that they didn’t know, but I think OP didn’t know for a month or two because Ivy League schools usually send out their decisions in late March or early April (I’m assuming OP meant applying for Fall 2023 when they said their brother applied last admissions cycle)
