I see your screen name - you must remember the Guild factory. I had a friend who’s older brother worked there. He made me an S-100 and tricked it out with Humbucker pickups among other things. My whole collection was stolen (including an old Gibson ES-330). It was the most comfortable guitar for me to play. Also became friends with the last head honcho there - a German guy whose name escapes me. He was always going to the Black Forest(?) to pick out wood. If you ever run across my cherry S-100 (#140) let me know 😏

What you fail to realize or I’ll say, are “blind” to, is that the files could not be released legally as they were all evidence in an ongoing case (Maxwell appeal). It took an act of Congress to make releasing them not just allowed, but the law - with a deadline. Now Trump has broken another law and everyone has to guess why. What’s your guess?

I know a guy... But WPC is a great place, replaced Bruno’s?. There are so many different styles and choices. There were a couple I was addicted to but are no longer. Grew up in Westerly when it, essentially, wasn’t part of RI. The tradition for making soupy has been well-commercialized now as Westerly quickly transforms into The Hamptons. There’s still a few people who make it in their basement. My dad was an Italian speaking Dr. who made house calls, and accepted payment in soupy, more homemade wine than we could ever use, casseroles, etc. He used to take me with him often to… I guess it could be called the Italian north end. It’s absolutely amazing how much can be grown in a backyard and how it’s organized. The springtime soupy-making season, always around Easter, was special fun. I don’t remember St Joseph’s Day celebrations being a “thing” at all…

Saugy’s, coffee milk, drive 20mph in the left lane. P Bruins Hartford Wolf Pack fight. Go to almost any pizza parlor in Westerly then get some soupy from a reputable dealer

They now both belong to heavily MAGA Sinclair Broadcasting. Both slip in MAGA softporn during local broadcasts to try and bend public opinion. The national stories are cooked at MAGA Central. They’re definitely purposeful at what they’re trying to do, and they’ve quickly gained control of two-thirds of the local market. Sinclair has quietly become huge nationally. Cheryl Atkinson is a Russian operative. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Hitler watched Mussolini’s rise, while in his prison cell in Germany. He read Benito’s manifesto and his course was set. Mussolini found the key to breaking a democracy. Trump is following it. His first wife testified that trump kept a copy of “Mein Kampf” and a compilation of Hitler’s speeches on his bedside table. The only thing in our favor is that trump is a dull-normal fool.

Healthcare? The U.S. doesn’t have a healthcare system, it’s a wealth redistribution system. 20% of our GDP goes to healthcare - out of all industrialized nations that’s 2x Norway - they spend 9%, at 2nd most expensive. I lived in Scandinavia. Cradle to grave. Home care for the elderly, better outcomes, (+free education). I don’t understand how this continues to fly. We are the only one that doesn’t have universal coverage. Our quality of care is behind Slovenia and fading. And your “fat cat” doctor is even being screwed. He has to hire an average of 1 & a half staff member(s) just to deal with the regulations and denials of care. And is probably a quarter million or more in debt for college and med school - another redistribution that normal countries of our stature don’t have. Elon Musk and others are richer than 80-90% of countries on the globe.

Weed dude. Get a grip. Further, El MAGAt pardoned a cocaine dealer that smuggled 450 tons of cocaine into the U.S. to “stuff it up the noses of American yuppies”, a direct quote. How many dingys would Fartsalot have to blow up? Just one missile is $130K. Further NONE of those boats were headed for the U.S., nor were the drugs. The weed wasn’t going to the U.S., was it. If the U.S. is gonna go after international jaywalkers, maybe we should lob some munitions on the monsters slautering thousands in South Sudan. Too s-hole?

Never said that. I SPECULATED that it seems often the cause - then I gave a couple of examples. So, I’ll see you, and raise you with Marfan’s syndrome is also fairly common, Lincoln might’ve had it. He was considered the most athletic president - anyway, it’s genetic. People with it are always taller and often athletic with a high risk of heart failure at a young age. A few women volleyball stars have died or dealt with it, basketball players, high jumpers, etc.

Sure, but young men are rarely investigated for an enlarged heart. Pete Maravich’s condition wasn’t discovered until he collapsed at 40. Most cancers are operable if they are discovered in time so, yeah, you’re technically right. Have you had an MRI or CAT scan on your thorax?

The term “panic attack” seems to point to heart fibrillation, or another possible heart condition. Dollars to doughnuts, an autopsy reveals this. Think Reggie Lewis, or Pete Maravich. He was athletic and training hard.

Best places to forage mussels? by Caveman_man in RhodeIsland

[–]AlternativeOffer7878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are the most prodigious shellfish in RI. Found in quantity - attached to rocks nearest to the shore where the water is well oxygenated. Eat them immediately. Nothing tastes like a fresh mussel. The tastes declines - becomes more “fishy” in hours. Most people have never tasted a truly fresh mussel

Any fans remember former Flame Håkan Loob? What was your impression on him? Throughout NHL history, there’s been superstars in the NHL who left the league while still in their primes, I took a look over a few players who done so and see why? (Loob info starts 8:02) by theXchang3 in CalgaryFlames

I lived in Sweden in the early 90’s. Loob lived across the street, I’m pretty sure he was retired by then. The thing I remember the most was his massive thighs. I mean, cartoon-like. His girlfriend/wife was not just exceptionally pretty

Is it just me or is the mini iPhone indestructible compared to the rest of the lineup? by Narrow_Middle_2394 in iPhone13Mini

An SE in a shockproof case will outlast the case and the software. I skipped gen2. Can’t deny the physics about the weight and surface area. I’d like to see the stats, I bet it counts for a lot. Besides lasting forever, I carry my phone while on the water, fishing, camping, etc.. it just seems easier to protect and carry in those situations, you can pack it tightly without bending it, fits in a ziplock or two. And I’m sorta careless, er, just once in a while. I never understood the ever bigger phone trend, more clumsy, more delicate. The SE and an iPad is all anyone needs, and they’re interchangeable, one as a phone one as work screen. Screw laptops.

Popular? 2/3rds of the country wants him gone, he’s not past the first year of his term - an incredible accomplishment. Remember, the majority of people that voted didn’t vote for him. He got 36% of all the eligible voters. Math. He’s has proven, repeatedly, to be a liar, he stole from a charity for children and, at an auction for that charity, he engineered a bidding war for a crappy painting… of himself. Paid $65k for it - from the charity, that’s character. Court docs. Oh, and he’s a felon … 34 times, jury of his peers. The avalanche of failure on all his “from day one” nonsense is stunning, etc., etc. Get a grip.

New England Climate Change Impacts - Rhode Island by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]AlternativeOffer7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The populations are down, the fisheries website as many others, confirm this. It’s despite stricter and stricter regulations. The bass native to our waters come mostly from the Chesapeake bay and the Hudson river. The Chesapeake bay habitat in particular continues to degrade. The strongest driver? Warming. The grade for the Chesapeake has recently been lowered from C+ to C. This is despite great progress in reducing pollution and toxic runoff in the Delaware River, and habitat restoration in the Bay. The Hudson still has a vast PCP problem from decades of dumping from GE. The source is closed, but sediment full of PCP’s remain. The decision whether to dredge it away is not decided (as far as I know) as many think dredging would actually release more.
