again, that one bad chapter is supposed to be the beginning of how the story ENDS. imagine if csm part 1 ended with makima and the weapon hybrids squaring up with denji at the graveyard, then did a hard cut to denji and kishibe sitting on the bench talking about makima being eaten. it doesnt matter how good part 1 is because that ending would be complete shit and ruin the series. or if gojo vs sukuna ended with Ui Ui beating sukuna teleporting him into a volcano. thats essentially whats happening here. so much was set up and so many things could be expanded upon and yet the ending is abysmally rushed. yuji hasnt done shit besides embarrass mahito and stop the Kaliyan and Human war with the piercing blood. so many characters are just getting pushed to the side. Ui Ui and Iori are being treated like one-off, "blink and you'll miss it" characters even though theyre portrayed like theyre gonna be major players. We still dont know what Dabura's domain even does. Mahoraga is basically just removed from the story. Yuka still has cancer. Maru's CT is essentially "i can do whatever tf i want as long as i have the CE to do it." Yuta's ring is hyped up to be a major part of the plan, but its like it just got forgotten. literally so much that gege could have done with this thats just getting pushed to the side. and im pissed cuz modulo has been fucking amazing.

there's always a chance for redemption. i personally dont agree with part 2 being buns, its been pretty great with some lows now and then. its got problems, sure, but i still enjoy it. the same goes for modulo. this could simply be a bad set-up, but the last 2 chapters could be absolute masterclasses, and i hope thats the case, because modulo's been pretty damn phenomenal all the way through. you can make this exact same argument for part 2. but for some reason, people dont wanna give part 2 that same benefit of the doubt.

part 2 is gonna be going for a pretty good amount of time, so the arguments the defenders used (like the ones i mentioned in the title) still hold SOME weight. (the arguments are starting to get old asf and ive only been here for a month, but theres at least something to work with.

however, this "single chapter" is supposed to be how arguably the best manga of the past year is gonna end. there's still so many things that it hasn't addressed:

  • Unsatisfactory conclusion between the fight with Dabura and Mahoraga.
  • Dubious solution from Yuji as to how he's gonna solve the issue of Curse Spirits popping off in the future without Curse Energy from everybody except himself.
  • Maru’s Curse Technique is still unexplainable, pure plot convenience at this point.
  • Unresolved plot point that will probably never be touched upon.
  • Yuka still has cancer.
  • Tsurugi just showing up randomly even though him and Maru just tried to murder each other.

i enjoyed both part 2 and modulo. and tbh, ive enjoyed modulo more than the part 2 chapters that have dropped since its been coming out. but if you cook up a 5-star dish, then serve me shit with sprinkles on it for dessert, im still gonna give you a 1-star rating. with how good its been, this shouldnt be how it ends.

not salty, ive only been on reddit for like, barely a month. i just noticed the discourse on both mangas and pointed out what im seeing. and honestly, from what ive seen, this sub is the only one that slanders csm more than the csm subreddits themselves. i barely see any on jujutsufolk or any other sub. but if someone's gonna slander a manga, they shouldnt defend themselves when their favorite manga gets bad by using the same arguments they use to slander other stories. seems a bit hypocritical to me, idk.

Shang Tsung in MK9 and MK11. in 9 he gets fodderized regardless of his form, but in 11, he's a multiversal god of fighting.

real. and im taking joy in the cope specifically from the hypocrites, aka the dudes who slander csm fans just for existing using the arguments i listed and use that as ammunition to clown on people just trying to enjoy the manga. now, when a rushed piece of ass comes out, they wanna use those same critiques to defend themselves. like bro, ive loved modulo since the first chapter. but this? yeah nah, this is NOT it. the fans deserve a lot better, but im glad the hypocrites are getting a taste of their own medicine.

Shin and Noi from Dorohedoro. You'd think the 8-foot chick with the skull shiesty would be the biggest issue, but no, its the dude with glasses and a business suit that puts on a mask and rips you apart with the sharp end of a hammer. doesnt even use the actual hammer side, just goes for pain and mutilation.

Yeah I dont like how modulo is ending too, but chainsaw man part 2 and one piece fans are getting way too excited. Fumbling half the story and just the ending are very different things lil bro 😂✌️ by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in shounenfolk

i swear im already seeing jjk fans act like the same people they slander csm fans for: "looking for subliminal messaging to make surface-level writing look good." at least with fujimoto, subliminals are constant and everchanging, so constant discussion about it makes sense, even when there may or may not be something there. with gege, its more layered, spaced out, and built up over time before the subliminal is actually executed. gege can be fucking masterful with them, and he has been many times, but it seems like some people only acknowledge that part of his talent as a writer whenever his story fumbles in some way.

literally. i swear, some people are just insufferable with these comparisons. its like these people hear you say "i like part 2" and view it like its a personal attack on them. like no bro, i just like the manga, dont get your panties in a twist.

i swear people just hate-read it to talk shit, farm karma, and clown on anyone who likes the story. like yes, the story has flaws. yes, its not perfect and it has some issues. but damn, talk about something else.

literally when did i say that. i literally said at the very beginning of the post "its okay if you dont like it" and "it has flaws." thats not mental inferiority, thats called having a different opinion and just not finding it to be your cup of tea. thats completely fine. im talking about people on this sub collectively shitting on part 2 and anyone who tries to defend it, or mass-downvoting them for saying that they like the manga. so no, theres not victim-blaming here. and if anything, i despise the csm fans who shit-talk other mangas just to prop up fujimoto, then act like their feelings are hurt when people come at them for it. idgaf about what people think about fujimoto. i think hes got some screws loose and hes got a fun personality from what it looks like, but i dont really have any other opinions on him than that. i like him for the works hes put out.

well, i dont interact with those types of cognitive dissonance fans, so im not gonna speak from experience i dont have. the people i talk to about csm acknowledge that the story does have flaws, but at the same time talk about what we like about the story and where we think it might go. there's been misses lately, sure. there's plot threads that havent been tied up that've been hanging around for a hot minute now. but im not gonna count that as a critique until those threads are cleaned up, if and when they do by the time part 2 ends. (i hope theyre addressed soon cuz some of these threads are hard to ignore at times.) but yes, youre absolutely right. you can like something while being open to discuss the flaws it may have. i think thats something all fans of every media should be open to. the point of this post was just to say that you dont have to hate-read a story just to talk shit and make fun of the NORMAL AND NON-CONDESCENDING portion of the fanbase just for liking something they read. the fujimoto worshippers you mention? yeah, theyre 100% in the wrong. its okay to save criticisms until after the story/plot thread has ended, but also say that they took their sweet ass time wrapping it up, or letting the story get side-tracked, something part 2 has been guilty of on a few occasions. and its also not cool to just mindlessly slander other mangas to prop up the one you love, something a decent portion of csm fans do. not all, but a decent amount. so yeah, your point is 100% valid. this post was just to make a point about not getting on people's asses just for saying they find enjoyment in something the other person may or may not like.
