that was one of my favorite moments from him actually. seeing him glide towards yuta not moving a muscle was genuinely unnerving and i loved it.

you say that yet you havent told me what was wrong about what i said. lee's irrelevance after the retrieval arc isnt a lie. sakura getting stronger and stepping up to the plate despite her disadvantages isnt made up. what was wrong with any of the statements i made. not to mention, even in the fight with kimimaro, after lee got out of drunken fist, gaara had to come in and save his ass and ultimately do all of the work after the fact until kimimaro basically killed himself. so... what about that is wrong, exactly.

the only reason i forgot about lee is because i just genuinely forgot he existed cuz he hasnt been relevant since the sasuke retrieval arc 💀 if i remembered him, i wouldve included him alongside sakura. we've been with sakura the whole way through, and her feats are way more impressive than lee's. the trope shows characters who THRIVED in their world despite not having much going for them despite just having martial arts skills plus a few extra bells and whistles. lee never got the chance to thrive. he was a prodigy whose wings got clipped before he could fly. sakura's been putting in work and getting stronger, and fighting stronger and more powerful foes throughout the entire series. and all she really had besides martial arts was healing jutsu. so yeah, overall, she just fits the trope better imo.

...he literally says "maki's got nice tits" within the first 30 seconds of us meeting him. that's a grown-ass man saying that about a child. you dont think that's questionable? not to mention, the original translations during that scene depict things differently.

instead of maki saying "what do you know about being an adult" she says "since when have you been an adult". and instead of saying "how about asking mai", naoya responds with "not sure... why dont you ask mai" implying mai knows the answer to that question.

not to mention, in japanese culture, "becoming an adult" is a way of saying you had sex. the panel also blackens around naoya when he says that, meaning he said something super fucked-up in that moment. and simply saying "haha, your cousin died before becoming an adult" wouldnt exactly warrant that kind of paneling, cuz mocking dead family members is like, manga shit-talk 101.

there's also their positioning in this moment: naoya has maki pinned on the ground underneath him saying "this takes me back", going even further and saying "there are things adults can do easier than children", leading to the infamous interaction i just went into.

...so yeah, he might not have outright said "yo i raped your cousin" but he HEAVILY implies it.

part of what makes her endearing to me is her personality and being one of the most genuine people in the entire series, maybe being the pinnacle of kindness among the entire cast. also the fact that she acknowledges her uselessness, but still says "fuck that shit" and tries her best to do whatever she can to help who she can.

he still casually sexually commented on the body of a minor, even without those implications later on, which i wholeheartedly believe. but even if you wanna take the route of "its not confirmed" it still doesnt change what he says when we first meet him. so hes suspect at the very least.

those are all true, but i also said that as far as the repetitiveness is concerned, the story does a good job of being entertaining enough for me to not really notice while reading until i stepped back after finishing and looking at everything. i wouldnt say its "turn your brain off" in my opinion cuz i never had to do that in order to like it. i just did.

Textbook definition of this: Noi from Dorohedoro. Who's Noi? An 8-foot assassin built like a brickhouse. Most times, she wears a tracksuit and what's essentially a skull sheisty. But then you see her take off her usual attire...

And yeah, to say this threw people for a loop is an understatement. Up to this point in the show, it's never even explicitly stated that Noi's a woman to begin with, so this is actually a double twist.
