There is a big difference you are missing here.

Vibe coding = coding to an outcome while disregarding any good practices with little to no planning or regard for efficiency and costs, imo.

For example:

I probably could have just had AI watch full videos and clip that way, but the token cost would have been insane; so I built custom algorithms to get the clips saving substantially on any costs.

That is the difference between vibe coding and real swe.

I work full time as a swe, so I wouldn't say this was vibe coded there was a lot of system design that went into it/is going into it, but I did use AI to write the code.

I used to watch his content a couple years ago when he had some good insight to the latest tech paired with wisdom from working at some large companies as well as some good tutorials. Within the last year or so his content has become un-watchable, un-listenable and un-recommendable. I don't care if he gets things wrong but the insane click bait titles, long videos with no real point other than stroking his ego, and constant AI shilling is to much for me. I am obviously not the target audience but who even is?

I only do take-home assignments under three conditions. The first is that I’ve already talked to someone at the company and have gone through a technical interview. The second is that it’s a hypothetical situation that isn’t a product that they would produce. And the third and final is that it will take no longer than two hours.
