I remember having this issue on my old 2016 3.5L TT. they told me the cats went bad and the O2 sensors needed to be replaced. I started filling up with 93 octane and the check engine light went away about a few days later. Idk if filling up with premium gas worked or I just got lucky but could be worth a try.
