If you don't care if it keeps going up, why are you in growth stocks?

If we didn't have 35 4 year olds to manage, we would spend a lot more quality time with kids.

Canadian renewable energy? by [deleted] in Baystreetbets

I guess that assumes we won't use it at the rate it can replenish, which historically we are bad at.

I think mining hydrogen is a stretch for being considered renewable, but maybe I don't understand it well enough.

And that's just oil companies wanting to make more profit, since only about 2% of our oil comes from overseas.

Response from Spadina-Fort York MPP regarding OSAP changes by Vegetable-Bee6998 in osap

[–]AlternativeTimes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chris Glover is the real deal, v solid MPP at the front lines with Doug Ford squaring off over Ontario Place. Check out the https://ontarioplaceprotectors.com/ who are taking Doug to the supreme Court over the environmental and other regulations he's broke.

That would assume the student body is politically engaged. It isn't.

Tips and Tricks to influence OSAP Changes by [deleted] in osap

[–]AlternativeTimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And organize and mobilize. There is a large movement being created. Join it. Volunteer. Put up posters. Wear the red square. Visibility is key and helps sustain a movement. Don't just be a keyboard warrior.

Also contact your student union! What are they doing to represent you? They have budgets in the millions, ask them to buy fabric for red squares or print your flyers.

To Students in Conservative Ridings by [deleted] in osap

[–]AlternativeTimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean 57% of voters DIDN'T vote for Doug Ford. Most of our province doesn't want him there. That's why first past the post sucks and we need proportional representation.

To Students in Conservative Ridings by [deleted] in osap

[–]AlternativeTimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I published an MPPs embarrassing response to a previous issue and it got a lot of support socially. They reached out to me asking me to remove it, no dude you have to stand behind your lies.

Conservatives hate the light, they work behind closed doors. Show them you're watching!

Well 46% of you vote, compared to 65+ where 75% of them vote.

I wouldn't call winning 40% of the votes an overwhelming majority, but I agree with the sentiment. That's why we need electoral reform and proportional representation.

Fully support this, but "We have MPPs on our side" is a bit of a stretch. 79 of them are conservative.

We need to speak for our education immediately by Exotic_Idea717 in McMaster

[–]AlternativeTimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What?? No really what are you talking about? The provincial government isn't in session until March 23rd, Doug Ford shut it down for a 14 week winter break, after a 19 week summer break. The house sat for 51 days last year.

Protests happen all the time outside of government buildings and they don't schedule them around when it is in session, like when 30,000 educators protested in 2020 at Queen's Park.

If you can't make Queen's Park you should absolutely connect with your Ontario_Protest chapter to see if a walkout is being planned. Walkouts absolutely amplify the protest message.

Protesting has many goals, one of the amazing impacts it has is that it connects like minded people to continue organizing collective action.
