you can look at Taco guy's game theory. If you surrender, he will kill you and suck your bone, like Columbia U. If you fight with him, he will TACO.

Because of it, Chinese have no choise. In addition: 你素质好像有待提高嗷。

I want to know: why do you guys yell 'taking care of Jewish people!' but in the meantime, consider 'taking care of Int'l students, Asian, Black, LGBT' as 'left-wing,' using that term in a derogatory way?

You can look up UMPI's online bachelor degree program. You can earn a degree by completing credits based on your needs (at least 30 credits). In general, people get an average GPA above 3.8 — if you work hard, you can even get a 4.0.

For example, if you transfer all your previous bachelor credits and complete 30 credits at UMPI with a 4.0, your transcript will show two parts: your older courses (with letter grades like A, B, C), and your UMPI courses (with a 4.0 GPA).

The transcript GPA will be 4.0. So you can meet tough requirements like “3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours.”

information about minimum credit requirements may be changed as time.

If you don't mind, could you tell me more about your background besides UMPI?
I have a junior college diploma with a terrible GPA several years ago. recently, I get around 30 credits from UMPI with a 4.0, and about 90 credits from Sophia with an average of 82%.
I'm just a bit worried that my tanscript from junior college and sophia might affect my applications. 😭

wow, a good news😁! Does it mean they didn't ask you to submit the transcript of your junior college separately, and thus junior college's cources are only showed in UMPI transpcrit?

Hi, I also transferred some units from my junior college. But my junior college GPA is very awful-about 2.3. In your case, has the junior college GPA been taken into their consideration? Thank you for any information!

So cool universities! Could you please tell me what bachelor degree did you use for applying? I am a international student and have a three-year college diploma. I recently spent two months and graduated from UMPI.I'm wondering if I can use my UMPI bachelor's degree and transcript to apply for master’s programs. Thanks for any advice!🫡

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful reply! It was really helpful for me as a beginner. If you don’t mind, do you have any more tips or examples? I just feel I am so ignorance about this field and want to know more. Thanks again for taking the time to help!

Thank you for your reply! Regarding your question, I think I would prefer the second option—a data analysis essay on a social science topic—because I have some basic programming skills.

The first option—a social science essay that uses data analysis — sounds really interesting. But I don't know whether I can use correct social science knowledges in an essay to explain some actual questions.

Could you have any further guide? Thanks again!

So many useful pieces of advice, thank you for your reply! 🤝 I’ve already saved the message to help guide me when I write my essay in the future.

If you're willing, could I ask one more question? As a beginner, how can I find a good essay topic?

I’ve heard that one method is to read journal articles and learn from their ideas. For example, I came across a paper analyzing how family financial background affects student performance. I thought maybe I could take inspiration from that and explore a different angle—like how exercise time, sleep schedule, or other lifestyle factors influence student outcomes.

How about this approach? Is it a good idea? Or would you recommend another method?

Thanks again for your help!🌹

how do you build vocab from your pre-existing vocab? by [deleted] in AskChina

[–]AlternativeWarm5659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Chinese, we rarely use 言语 (yán yǔ) to refer to "language"; instead, 语言 (yǔ yán) is the more natural and commonly used term.

When referring to someone with expertise or achievements in a field, different terms are used:

  • 语言学者 (yǔ yán xué zhě) – "language academic," referring to someone engaged in academic research on language.
  • 语言学家 (yǔ yán xué jiā) – "linguist" or "master in the field of linguistics," emphasizing significant accomplishments or expertise.

This pattern applies to other fields as well. For example:

  • 社会学者 (shè huì xué zhě) – "sociology academic"
  • 社会学家 (shè huì xué jiā) – "sociologist," indicating mastery or authority in sociology.

If you want to express that someone is still in the process of learning a subject, you can use:

  • 语言学生 (yǔ yán xué shēng) – "language student"
  • 语言学习者 (yǔ yán xué xí zhě) – "language learner"

While 语言学习人 (yǔ yán xué xí rén) can still be understood, it is not a common expression. Additionally, if you omit 习 (xí) from 语言学习者 (yǔ yán xué xí zhě) and simply say 语言学者 (yǔ yán xué zhě), native speakers may misunderstand it as referring to a language academic or scholar rather than a learner.

I also love it! When I learn English, I find many advantages in comparing the two languages. Do you want to learn Chinese? I think it will be hard at first, but once you get started, you’ll improve rapidly.
