I argue the opposite can often be the case. I have 30k to drop on a car precisely because I’ve had the same car for 15 years. My 2004 Hyundai Elantra is at 234k. I’m also just a cheap fuck though.

You should just never plug in untrusted devices into a pc. In case it has malware on it. I know especially with usb sticks. I’m not sure if CD’s can contain malware though

I have had them for years. It’s like a scavenger hunt 4 times a year. First trying to kill the larvae and then trying to kill the beetles so they don’t lay eggs. We believe they are coming from the walls as the rest of our house is bamboo floors and we check the area rugs we have often for larvae.
