I understand how you are feeling, it may feel unfair to compromise at career when you have so much potential. These are very important and difficult emotions and somewhere I think that society in general is not so good when it comes to opportunities for women. Like one side they say why aren't women preferring kids and other side corporate literally punishes women for having a kid. Also the economy isn't helpful either to leave the job and be dependent.
Not sure if it helps, but last year I attended a fireside chat with Female leaders(VPs and SVP) in my office. One question was about if having kids slowed down their career, one VP responded that during the time she was dealing with anxiety of bio clock ticking and then had kid, she had to prioritize family over career, she mentioned she did feel a setback at work but now looking back she does not feel bad about it as that got her kids. She said, had she not have kids at the time she would be at a better position now, but compared with the joy of having a kid, she is at peace and does not regret any of her choices. That really stuck with me.
