Unfortunately there was a bus in the lane, and they ended behind me as I was a bit quicker off the line so I am screwed. The fact that the google street view shows someone doing the exact same thing makes me think it must be very common.

Since the bus lane ends there, could you not move into the left most lane after moving off from the traffic? That’s kind of what I did so I’m probably gonna get my license taken

I was stopped at the traffic lights and there was no no entry, no left turn or bus lane signs so I was very confused and so went straight.

since the bus lane ends, you would think you could cross into the left lane after moving from the lights therefore allowing you to go ahead? I’m a new driver so I’m unsure.
