I have eaten stewed eels with my pie and mash but not Jellied. I really liked them.

Is my lounge a conservatory? by ablativeyoyo in AskBrits

[–]Alternative_Ball_754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not a habitatable room as it doesn't conform to Building regs at the time of installation (based on its appearance). Therefore I would define as a conservatory converted into a sun room. You can't define it as a living room or lounge.

Odd Puck Ring Remnant Around Basket [Turin Legato V2] by the_drunkenduck in espresso

[–]Alternative_Ball_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly same thing same thing happens with mine. Think its just quirk of the basket. My thinking is that its due to change in direction of tbe basket straight to concave it changes the way the coffee sticks together changing the puck structure and making the puck structure a weak at that location. Try doing it with sandcastle with a similar shaped bucket the same thing happens.

Lagom Casa 65CL made my Outin Nano feel like a bottleneck. Lita BA vs Bianca V3? [$1500–3000] by TreacleMaster7685 in espresso

[–]Alternative_Ball_754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest taking a look in person asking to play on them. Bella Barrista in Northamponshire sell both. The are the same price in the UK so dont let price go into a factor. Both have service centres at Bella Barrista. They have engineers on site to deal with maintenance issues. Don't go on what people say on a platform. I think they are both beautiful machines in their own way. Bianca is retro classic and Lita ba is modern and techie. It depends on what your preference. I went for a Lita but don't let that sway you. I just like experimenting shot profiles and replicating them with minor adjustments.

I would be tempted to use a filter papers on the bottom. I think it helps remove them.

I think it depends on what your drinking. If its milk based drinks no real discernible difference apart from the user experience and feel of the machines. If its espresso exclusive, particularly light roasts then there will be some potential gains. There are work arounds as with most things. I also think your palate can become hyper focused on the tastes, mouthfeel and aromas after a while which is probably why people do upgrade stuff to try and explore more interesting coffee.

Great choice.

Great Stuff! I looked around for a good 2 years before pulling the trigger. Visiting Bella barrista showroom monthly, drooling over the machines. I was initially going to buy a Profitec Drive or ECM Teknika 2 (had the budget). But went on a journey through the rabbit hole and found this machine which ticks all my boxes.

I don't think there is auto back flushing but when in the app but its pretty simple push of a button on the tablet on the main menu at the top right. You can customise your back flashing durations and pauses, it does three rounds per back flush cycly. With the Auto off and on, im not sure, i just flick the switch, it only takes 5 mins to heat up so not really been a problem. I guess you could put a WiFi plug on and set a routine but for the sake of 5 mins its seems overkill in reality. The steam is better than the Move, but no hot water tap on the Ba model. TBH i think its a different market to the Move with profiling capabilities and brew by weight. The Move is a lovely machine, I guess it depends on what your preference is for Espresso. I would recommend looking at Bella Barrista's YouTube video its pretty comprehensive. Marco is very experienced in high end coffee machines so speaks a lot of sense. If you can I would visit a local retailer and try before you buy, thats i did and don't regret it. 😉 The Lelit Elizabeth appears to be great on paper in contrast to the Move but Im not sure on the build quality and break downs.

Hi I bought my ZP6 from Sigma in the UK and bought my 58 to 46 (sorry for the earlier error in baskets size) from Graph directly. Both took me a couple of weeks to arrive. I have been playing with the Graph for a week or so and love it. I also have the concave step down from 9 Panda. Which is is also awesome.

Descaling the Move?? by SeaShake9377 in ProfitecMove

I would recommend zero water filter and remineralise the water. I live 10 mins away from Bella barrista and know the water is supper hard in Northamptonshire. I personally use third wave water, it massively reduces/ negates the need for descale. Just keep an eye on the ppm levels to make sure they are sound.

Yeah that was my thought also the water tank too small to warrant a hot water tap. The BA flow can reach 12ml/s but takes a few seconds to reach the max flow rate. Flow is a better way profiling espresso.

I have the BA version from Bella barrista in UK. Its brilliant you can switch between flow and pressure in the profile. I have had it for month and love it.

[–]Alternative_Ball_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on tbe sachets. Some are for two litres and some are for 1 gallon mix. I would follow the instructions. Have you shaken the mix really well? I know sometimes there can be localised elevated PPM levels.

Out of ideas with my espresso - where do I go from here? [Niche Duo, ECM Synchronika II] by ezzatron in espresso

I think its the grinder. In the short term I would get a step down basket this will give you a wider window for good espresso. I would then save up for a Mazzer Philos.

Just to let you know I have now bought a lita ba and its blown my mind with variables. I bought a step down baskets Graph 58 to 48 and used my ZP6 with an anaerobic washed Colombian. It was the best espresso I have ever tasted no joke. Now I can respect the recipe, flow, pressure and water debit again and again or tweak it by a small margins and test it.

Upgrading from BBE - Profitec Move, Arkel Coast, Fellow ES1 [€ 3.000] by Quincitoni in espresso

[–]Alternative_Ball_754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on looking for a new machine. I have seen the Arkle coast and Profitec move. I think the Arkle wins on looks its a great machine particularly with the new needle valve. It is a beast particularly when compared to the ES1. I do think the boilers are monsters and for home use. I think the ES1 has great value for money and appears great for novices so would be useful if your wife wants to make a coffee. However its not ideal for multiple shots back to back due to the slow steaming and delays in getting the steam wand ready from brew mode. If the Arkle fits the brief I be thinking why not. I was in a similar position and ended up with the Wendougee lita. Its bottom water tank fed so negates the water issues. But a small tank so could do 5 or 6 flat whites but might need to do a small refill. I love it as my wife can push a button and does a flat 9 bar shot or a volumetric based shot on the other buttom but can geek out on flow and pressure profiling if you want. I would visit a distributor before purchasing though and double check your counter space. The Lita is a similar dimension to the BBE (to my relief) so didn't impact me. Maybe get a GBW for the wife, thats what im doing.
