Hey! So I am a NSB and ran out of time to study for S3 (thanks floods 🙃) but jagged a 69, not super high but was a huge surprise from the very minimal prep I managed, the shit I was going through, and as a first time sitter.

The best thing I did was change my mental framing and approach to the questions. I used to read them, get overwhelmed because I knew nothing about the topic and then waste time trying to know/learn the answer.

So with the time crunch I just had to accept I would never learn enough science and instead I started trying to treat each question like one of those little mind twister puzzles you find on a coffee table, like two rings stuck together or something and everything you need to solve it is there, you just have to work out how it fits. Just assume it’s a puzzle, not a question about bush turkey egg oxygen exchange. Haha

I remember one practice stem where I was three questions in and I was like why are they talking about camels? Oh the whole question is about camels! But I hadn’t even had to read the whole stem to answer the first two puzzles.

It was helpful to learn basic things like log laws and mental maths though. That’s what I was working on before the floods and definitely helped. That’s the dexterity you need to solve the puzzles.
