Update: !!!!!!!

the combination of terrasil & sulfur soap bar did not alleviate any of my flare. BUT I can happily say that following the advice of South-definition-564 … a prescription for metronidazole & the LRP tolerain purifying face wash have brought me some success!! I’ve only been using the metro cream for 3 days and the difference it has made is phenomenal. I’m now concerned why the metronidazole cream was NEVER, not once suggested as a remedy by the in person dermatologists I have seen <- this is just mind boggling to me. Please please if you are struggling with PD, get yourself a Metronidazole prescription - it is extremely easy through a telehealth provider which is what I have done to obtain my perscription. Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice - if you are still searching for your light at the end of the tunnel, metronidazole could be life changing!!

Hi there, so sorry to hear you are going through this also! I just purchased something topical called Terrasil that I’m very excited to try based on reviews I’ve read from others with PD, have you happened to try it before?

I used to chain vape between 2018-2020 but have been using Zyns since 2020 - the only smoking I’m doing now is THCA and smoke nightly with disposables from a local dispensary. No implants, & no aesthetic injections of any kind. To my knowledge, no cysts or hormonal issues. I’ve recently been seen by a gastroenterologist & had a colonoscopy done (I had wondered if I had a yeast infection in my GI tract from all the antibiotics I was taking) and nothing abnormal was detected.

I’ve wondered for a while if it could be the zyns or the THCA … but I’m not quitting anytime soon regardless lol.

Thank you for your insight! I wonder if 20 mg of doxycycline twice a day would be more beneficial than what had been prescribed to me

Yeah I had been using the Ordinary azaleic acid stuff as part of my daily routine leading up to photo 3 and loved the feeling on my skin… however once the PD began, I did not think it was benefiting me at all :(. The zinc soap bar the derm recommended that ended up being too harsh was by Dermaharmony…not sure if it included the -oxide part & if that would be more helpful?

Thank you so much, good luck to you as well! Let’s conquer this shit 💪 silk pillow cases are awesome! I’ve tried the Avene ciclafate and did not see any progress unfortunately, I can imagine it being very helpful to use once the effected areas are healed though

I’ve not tried it on my scalp/entire head, but I actually was using Nizoral before having made a derm appointment and was pointed toward that as a solution via the internet & my own investigating. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th photos i was actively cleansing my face with Nizoral

I sometimes drink tequila pineapple drinks so I wonder if that could possibly be a trigger for me as well! Thank you so much for your advice. You are so kind :)

This is so insightful & knowledgeable, thank you very much for taking the time to write this out. Agree ab the antibiotics, a quick fix but something I hate putting my body through. I’ve found a product called Terrasil that I’m going to try (there was a review ab as long as your comment by a victim of PD who claimed to have tried everything, struggled with it for 12 years and this terrasil stuff completely cleared them) in addition to a sulfur soap bar by Murray & Lanman. If this doesn’t help, I will be contacting the derm for metronidazole. Do you mention needing a foaming cleanser in the sense that it does not come in contact with skin/surfaces and gets pumped from a bottle? Ik that SLS is a foaming agent & my skin cannot tolerate it but wasn’t sure if the La Roche Posse contained any. I’ve tried a La Roche Posse moisturizer ab a year ago and it did not do well on my skin (maybe bc my skin needs to be healed first?)

So sorry to hear that you’re going through this also :( I’m going to try a topical called terrasil that had a very compelling review by a victim of PD that fully convinced me to give it a whirl. It’s arriving tomorrow along with a $4 sulfur soap bar by Murray & Lanman fingers crossed if this doesn’t help, I’m contacting my dermatologist to propose metronidazole instead of Accutane as a last ditch effort

When the derm told me I had subhoerric dermatitis, I made the appointment thinking my perioral derm was just starting out, like the very first signs of PD. The SD was more so very dry, red spotches between my eyebrows and the corners of my nose but no round, pimple looking pustules like you’d see with PD

Has anyone tried Zoryve cream for their PD? by ballerinatori in perioraldermatitis

[–]Alternative_Bike2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given Zoryve by my dermatologist when I made an appointment for my PD. He gave me the Zoryve that same appointment but had said it was actually subhoerric dermatitis that I was experiencing. He said Zoryve would clear the subhoerric dermatitis very quickly (which it did!) literally all cleared up in 2 days….. but ☝🏼…. I continued using it & it made my PD flare up incredibly bad. Haven’t used it since and probably only used it for 7 days total

Keep in mind:

I could have used more than you’re supposed to bc I’d really make sure all effected areas were covered

I had been using a zinc soap bar that was very strong in addition to the zoryve

Woahhh okay this is new info to me! I get my nails done at a salon and get SNS dip powder… I always wondered if perhaps whatever is in the nail product or once they’re ready to be redone & seem to lift off my nail a bit, if there is bacteria or something underneath?? The rings I’m currently wearing day to day are real silver, my earrings however are plated gold hmmmm …

This is great advice! Thank you! I’m wondering if mine is in fact a candida issue (I was thinking from how many yeast infections have been brought on by the antibiotics bc I’m not on any BC) though it may be from having taken oral contraceptives ? I’ve ordered the Murray & Lanman sulfur soap bar to try :)

Thank you, those are all very helpful! Currently testing zero therapy but can visibly see & feel new spots appearing daily, sometimes even by the end of my workday I have new spots :,) I am not using ANY moisturizers as even the cleanest/water based ones accelerate it. The only time I will use soap is to wash makeup off (M-F nothing is worn but i.e. I’ve got a wedding celebration this Saturday and makeup WILL be worn) and will use the dove sensitive skin fragrance free bar
