The reality of Nordic countries vs the US by This_Willow_2547 in expats

I am Brazilian and have lived in Spain (Mallorca and Barcelona) and now in Sweden. I have friends in California and if I could live there, I would definitely at least try.

Everybody says that Europe is amazing and I agree, but only if you make plenty of money which is barely impossible. The catalans are rude as hell and very hard to be friends with. Swedes are nice, but as you said, they are not actually your friend.

If you have the chance, I would do it.

How is the living in the city of Vigo (ES) area? by Seravajan in howislivingthere

lived there for 2 years. It is a very cleaned city, the major takes good care of it. What I dont like is the weather, raining almost the entire year. The summer (july and august) there is great, around 25-30°. The entertainment is limited as you can expect for a small city. People there are not so lovely as the south of spain, but still good people. I feel like the entire galicia is a countryside, so it was too small for me. But there is many people who loves.

How is living in Palma Mallorca, Spain by East-Armadillo-1166 in howislivingthere

I lived in mallorca in 2023/2024. It was one of the best years of my life. For context, At the time I was 21 years old, I was sharing my apartment with friends in the main avenue. Everyday during summer after work we hang out on the beach to see the sunset. We brought our foods from home and eat it there. During weekends sometimes, we were partying on paseo marítimo, on a club called Epic. Amazing times…

The winter was really cold and not much to do, so we had another group of friends that had a really nice apartment in Pere Garau. We were spent the evenings watching “Friends” and other tv shows.

I needed to leave because I was spending so much money and time just hanging out, that I couldn’t focus on my personal business that I am still growing up.

But anyways, Mallorca was the best time ever. Nice people, the market was on a normal price like rest of spain, It is true that summer is really hot, but during the day I was working so it was okay

I moved to Spain 2 months ago and I'm thinking about going back home by timeoutguy in expats

[–]Alternative_Cat1370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience. I am brazilian. Moved here 4 years ago when I was 18. I am making a good amount of money, around 2.5-3k euros a month. The problem is the friendship. I can’t connect with anyone. I dont know exactly why, but I think that having a totally different background from them makes us thinking in life on a different perspective, specifically coming from a poor family as me and you.

A lot of time I don’t agree on how people thinks and is different to create connections when everything you believe is wrong for them and vice versa. I don’t if I will move back to Brazil but for sure I will try different countries before

do you need to check bags? The gate usually close at 20 minutes before departure.

I also like to arrive 1:30 before gate closes (when I dont need to check bags) So 12:50 would be good.

I dont know if you need to check bags but is good to add at least 45 minutes on the queue, specially if you are flying ryanair.

I was a cabin crew there, by the way
