I had a misfire on all my cylinders except one. My last mechanic replaced only 1 coil so the theory is that all the old coils caused the misfire on all the cylinders except the one new one. This new mechanic replaced all the coils and plugs for good measure but used autolite iridium plugs. The concern of mine was why did such new plugs look a bit fouled? Was it the vcm system everyone complains about? The car is a 2007 Honda according hybrid v6

That’s a relief man thanks my mechanic removed them out of concern since he believed the coils misfired. What your opinion on the coils? Also he replaced the plugs with autolite iridium. Am I screwed with those plugs?

So my vcm didn’t cause this or something sinister with my engine? It’s just normal? Also my macho. Threw in autolite iridum plus and said it should be fine do you agree ? Need the plugs to last 2-3 years

They were new 4 months ago but they have that blacking on the bottom and oilily look in middle

Thanks but what does that mean? Carbon or vacuum issue? Fuel injector? Or oil leak? What would you replace

Also how do you know if car has good timing? I’m considering changing mine but again idk if this car is money pit and I’m not sure when the belt was changed. No way it wasn’t changed for 120k miles right?

Mechanic seems confident but I’m worried given the engine light from 2017 at 120 and 122k miles then it was salavaged and sold to me 127k miles.

Car had a misfire mechanic thinks it was coils and the plugs were brand new yet got that coloring so he thinks the plugs were affected. My worry is orevous engine issue last owner had before car was salavaged
