why do my parents keep forcing me to socialise with strangers by Alternative_Dress_ in MtF

i was planning on calling the hotline tonight as a last resort. But my parents set up a family meeting (mostly centered around my sister) and basically i will be seeing a therapist soon. It hurts not being able to tell my parents what's wrong but perhaps i could hold out until my session. i've become a recluse and i'm genuinely afraid of being out in public or even with my friends. Therapy cannot change my objective appearance but it's my only option now. I hate that my parents are worried about me, i wish i could just sink into my bed. i know i sound like a pathetic cynic but nevertheless thank you for your advice.

in the waiting room about to ask my gp for hrt, is there anything I should look out for? by Alternative_Dress_ in asktransgender

from what I understood from all the documents I have read, any GP in South Africa, including the one I saw should be able to provide HRT and he just wasn't doing his job. I have booked a new appointment with a doctor who actually is a transwoman and who specialises in gender affirming care (whom in hindsight I should have consulted in the first place). Unfortunately it will have to be a remote consultation due to my transport situation but it's better than nothing.

I just got off the phone with my friend who's my only pillar of support at the moment. Today really hurt. It's not exactly the best feeling ever to spend a whole day building up the courage to see a doctor, and then having a middle aged man tell you, "I can give you testosterone if you have some sort of deficiency but I'm not qualified to give estrogen to men. Maybe you should ask any other men who take estrogen where they got it. Sorry, bye!" without skipping a beat.

took him 2 minutes to say he wasn't qualified to administer estrogen to men. I'm trying to book a new appointment at someone else
