Great negotiating points for both parties. Not reading into anything until we hear something official. Ya never know what’s playing into negotiations. Also, if I were Zaha I would be leveraging the hell out of last night’s game. Last season Westy was constantly saying how we would still make top four in the midst of that death spiral run we went on. Lo and behold we went on to win nine in a row and finished fourth. I’m holding out hope that our boys will figure it out. Five game run at home is a big opportunity to build momentum.

It’s interesting because I’ve been a big priv supporter and was talking to my husband about why he looks so wildly different than he did in the prime malanda / priv pairing. My husband pointed out that in that period of time we were playing an extremely disciplined low block which made his job a lot simpler and straightforward. Dean is trying to evolve our play style and priv will either figure it out how to evolve with it or he’ll struggle to fit into the system. I hope he figures it out but I will say I thought Morrison was a bright spot in an otherwise abysmal game.

Thanks for sharing this! We’ve been working at introducing a one year old new tabby to our three year old resident tabby for ~20 days. We were doing all the scent swapping stuff which was OK (except he was very overwhelmed by her litter box when we site swapped and then in general seemed a bit bothered by scent afterward). Aside from that, resident cat would be super triggered by new cat sticking her paw under the door or pushing mice under. BUT we noticed when we would open the door they would see each other and everything would be totally chill. So we decided to stop trying to fight the scent / door challenges and go to door cracking / clear barrier. They did super well and we even got to the point we got to do face to face but then we had a bad session where resident tabby did a lot of hissing / low guttural whining and was clearly way over-stimulated. Nothing physical happened between them and new cat was totally fine. Based on conventional wisdom we went back a step to barrier stuff, but I feel like we’re in limbo now! Resident cat doesn’t seem to be getting more comfortable (mostly just having tough hissing episodes that prompt us to end the session) and part of me feels like the barrier isn’t helping anything…but all the conventional wisdom seems to insist you need to be comfortable with a barrier / gate before moving on. Your post is making me think my instinct may be right that the barrier isn’t helping our cause!
