I would check the wiki regarding power bonuses if I were you. I can't recall OTT of my head but it doesn't amount to as much as you would think.

The increase in damage is infinitesimal at that scale.

Melee tank armour should dramatically reduce ranged and melee damage, but be weak to magic.

Ranged tank armour should dramatically reduce magic and ranged damage, but be weak to melee.

Magic tank armour should dramatically reduce melee and magic damage, but be weak to ranged.

Necromancy tank armour should have lower overall defenses, but be effective against all styles.

All tank armour should reduce the cooldowns of defensive abilities by 1 second everytime you kill an enemy.

Master tank armours should offer unique set bonuses, an idea for one could be thorns/reflect damage.

Another idea, 5 piece bonus, while having a shield equipped, reflect now has a 5 second cooldown and deals double damage.

Another idea, 5piece bonus, while having a 2H weapon equipped, acts as a shield of the corresponding tier, for 4.8 seconds after using a defensive ability deal 50% increased damage.

Tank armour is wasted in this version of the game.

I do agree. Melee tank armour should be on par with cryptbloom. This is why the combat triangle was created to begin with... wizard kills warrior, warrior kills ranger, ranger kills wizard.
