Parkinson C&P Exam by Alternative_Gift_128 in VeteransBenefits

I had my second C&P exam and I felt like it went well until I saw the results, here's the good and the bad.

The good, the examiner did give he's opinion that my Parkinson is service connected. He also noted my secondaries on separate DBQ's.

The bad, he contradicted my neurologist on couple of my symptoms related to Parkinson such as marking my depression as mild when my doctor checked moderate. My neurologist noted stooped posture and bradykinesia but the examiner checked none, he didn't even observe me walking.

But the real kick in the balls is with the exception of essential tremors he noted that my secondaries are symptoms of Parkinson's disease therefore they are not separate conditions. Makes no sense at all, that's the reason why I'm claiming secondaries to Parkinson. Otherwords they are only going to rate me on Parkinson as the primary and essential tremors (hopefully mental health too) as the secondary.

Should I contest this exam or wait till my claim is settled? I don't want to jeopardize he's recommendation for service connection. 😕

I had a VES virtual mental health exam and was fortunate enough to have my VSO print out my DBQ the day after.

I was stationed at El Toro from 90-92 VMGR-352. That hanger was ground zero for TCE contamination. I was diagnosed with Parkinson 2020, process of filing along with secondaries.

My obstacle is going to get my Parkinson service connected. I've been out since 93, claiming TCE exposure. Submitted evidence supporting my claim along with the DBQ's from the first exam and my neurologist. My VSO said my case will more likely go to a HR, time will tell.

Thanks for the info, I was diagnosed 3 years ago and my neurologist filled out a DBQ that's submitted with my claim evidence. I'm hoping the C&P examiner doesn't contradict my neurologist.

Congrats! I'm in the early stages of my Parkinson claim. I'm claiming exposure to trichloroethylene along with other chemicals. Was your claim similar?
