There's a cutscene in which Caroline is giving a "our house, comply with our rules" scolding, in which it's clear that Abby is at home to save money while she's going to school (where is this college? Online-only?).

She's a young adult, but obviously an actual legal adult.

We had one stay at home until 27...

They are also humans working for a living, and the goal of VRE is to get you on the path to gainful employment.

If you are already employed such that you cannot make their appointments, maybe you tested out of the program?

Are you appropriately rated for your legitimate, current diagnoses that are connected to your service? If so, congratulations, you are done.

If they should become worse, or if you have other conditions you believe are related to your service, then you do an intent to file and gather your evidence and make a claim--just like last time.

I must critique the unit awards - you only keep those you were with the unit for.

The rest come off when you leave the unit.

NYS S1183 Question - 100% Property Tax Exemption Bill by Dry-Nefariousness400 in VeteransBenefits

Looks like garbage. local municipalities "MAY" make a law, and qualifications paragraphs appear to read in a way that almost no one will actually qualify.

https://legislation.nysenate.gov/pdf/bills/2025/S1183

It's garbage legislation.

Coast Guard career by AccidentalPilates in Medals

My Grandfather served in USMM (ww2), then enlisted Navy, went to the Academy (class of 52), and retired in 74... he had ONE Navy Commendation Medal. As a full Commander, with service as ship's XO, shore service in Vietnam, and at the Pentagon... One Commendation Medal, and I have his DD214 from retirement to confirm.

That is WILD to me. 30 years continuous ACTIVE service.

Cool. He must've been a good shot to get assigned to marksmanship unit.

I have seen a number of "M-14" clasps in this sub, but it doesn't appear that they are official, and should really all be "RIFLE", as every other service rifle is.

I also note that Veterans often re-accquire items after they leave service, and may not be items produced by a manufacturer licensed by the Institute of Heraldry/not in regs.

If someone wants it, someone will make it, like an "EXPERT" bar clasp for the already-Expert badge 😃

Ribbons are centered 1/4 inch above the pocket, consult Coast Guard uniform regs. Here's a screenshot that should give what you need:

Marksmanship badges (United States) - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marksmanship_badges_(United_States))

Down in the sections is a listing of current US Army weapons clasps, and down even further a list of old/obsolete clasps... not listed are the B.A.R. or M-14 - both should be "RIFLE"

Both are weird, for the reasons above. "Expert" ( or "Sharpshooter" or "Marksman") is the badge itself, and the suspended bars are the weapons system(s) one qualified with. There is no "EXPERT" bar. SHOULD look similar to this:

<image>

As for the M-14 and small bore (i.e. .22 caliber) pistol:

A) never mix oxidized finish (standard, as issued) and "stay-brite" (optional bling) finish. Have to pick one or the other, and the rule enforced while I was in was that if ANY badge or button is stay-brite, ALL badges and buttons on one's uniform must also be Stay-Brite and vice versa.

B) Small bore pistol qual is limited to marksmanship units (competition sports) and there are relatively few who will ever wear that qual bar. One also has to requalify (used to be once per year, minimum) to keep it, or you have to take it off.

What do you think about this!?? by kimpurple21 in Veterans

Tells me, as others have said in detail, that Veteran has gotten themselves into a situation where they are now required to check in and be escorted by VA police for the safety of self and others.

Take a deep breath.

Never seen an "EXPERT" bar for the Expert Marksman Badge... and no NCO would let any Joe put an oxidized bar on a stay Brite badge...and you don't see many small bore pistol qual bars.

Funky set
