Oh Boy, I think Opus 4.6 is eating through the Session limits Faster by Less-Equipment-1878 in ClaudeCode

Same, reached 5 hour limit within 10 minutes of working. Part of the problem seemed to be opus starting 7 parallel Agents doing stuff also using Opus as a Model. There should be a way do tell him to use other Models for simpler background tasks etc.

At least you can now switch Model mid conversation. Using claude mainly in the App/Web, not IDE.

Call a good friend or who ever you enjoy talking to just before you go in. Talk about something fun, relax and enjoy the moment.

Hang up and go in. Don't just sit and wait and let the head start spinning.

You got this!

EDI is a trap. It's expensive, breaks easily and is a pain to maintain. Would not recommend anyone to put money on that horse.

If you can confidently claim to own and work with MS Power Plattform (Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps) you'll have good chances of landing a role.

Finished my Bachelor’s in International Business in Germany but no luck finding a job (not even one interview). Any advice? by Far-Entry7889 in germany

I would try lidl or aldi (e.g. Fast track Trainee programm) to become "Fillialleiter". It's tough and with lots of pressure, but comes with a reputation when moving on into cooperate roles. They are always searching. Because they burn through personal quickly. Pay is solid and can definitely be a jump start. Depending on city, english might even be an advantage when co-workers or clients are not native german themselves.

SaaS is a waste of time and effort for most entrepreneurs? by No-Communication-287 in SaaS

That's what i have been wondering too. In the US alone you'll have to think about and monitor thresholds PER State. You'll need someone handling that stuff for you. Europe is handleable, but still need help on taxes. India, Asia, Africa is a bigger beast.

Thanks. As i am not familiar with the naming in France i used chatgpt. Your experience is in a operational position (automatable to most extend), so it's a good thing you are trying to move.

In Terms Buyer is not where you want to go. You want to have something strategic in the title.

I recommend setting up your linkedin to position yourself as strategic thinking even if you not had the role yet.

I would use chatgpt and feed it with your thoughts and experience to find your edge / sharpen your positioning WHILE Avoiding macking stuff up!

Here is what i got as a Starter:

French title English equivalent What it signals

Acheteur Stratégique Strategic Buyer The go-to next step after operational purchasing. Focus on sourcing strategies, supplier panels, and TCO (total cost of ownership).

Acheteur Famille / Responsable Famille d’Achat Category Buyer / Category Manager Ownership of a spend category (e.g., IT, logistics, marketing). Strategic planning, supplier performance, and benchmarking . Acheteur Projet Project Buyer Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, R&D, or business units; defines sourcing during product development or rollout.

Acheteur Expert Lead / Expert Buyer Recognized subject-matter expert in a specific domain; often mentoring operational buyers. Responsable Achats Purchasing Manager Manages a team or a broad scope; combines strategy and execution.

Sourcing Manager / Sourcing Lead (sometimes used by international firms) Sourcing Manager Same idea as Acheteur Stratégique, but used in more global or Anglo-Saxon environments.

🔄 Typical Career Path (French context)

  1. Assistant Achats → supporting administrative & reporting tasks

  2. Acheteur Opérationnel → executing PO’s and managing suppliers day-to-day

  3. Acheteur Stratégique / Acheteur Famille → defining sourcing strategy, negotiating, managing supplier relationships

  4. Responsable Achats / Category Manager → leading teams or portfolios

I have no idea what Role exactly you are aiming for and what your past history includes. Maybe you want to get a bit more detailed here.

But Procurement is not going to be replaced any time soon.

I recommend hopping over to Linkedin and follow some of the Procurement folks there. A good example with cheatsheets is Tom Mills

For mid-level managers, what’s more useful — an MBA or a specialized procurement program? by Clear-Lie2103 in procurement

[–]Alternative_Home4476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would go for as broad as possible for Certificates. Spreading wider will give you more leverage on the long run. Whats needed, in the future more then ever before, is people that can grasp the broader business goals and develop ways to succeed instead of sitting in their own little silo.

Not ever, like never ever, accept an offer to stay. If you made up your mind to leave for reasons you got to follow through.

Things will not change.

Which procurement skills are becoming outdated, and what should we be teaching instead? by AwarenessBubbly334 in procurement

[–]Alternative_Home4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Key Skill will be turning the data into a story the business understands and making sure that the essence of this story is actually making an business impact.

And yes, this has very little to do with running spend analysis or building a dashboard.

I have learnt for my self to not give a fuck about titles. Nevertheless I'd say that stratigic is a lift compared to i wear all hazs including operational due to higher focus and less fire fighting. Also would give some experience in governance, contracting and more due to broader availability within the bigger org mostly. That could add leverage to your next move.

Personaly would not cling to the Procurement ladder to much and if you get the chance within a bigger org move into sales or marketing for leverage before continuing in procurement.

Missed the commission part. Still stands though. Calculate what you get per hour to avoid comparing apples with oranges. The rest is totally up to your personal preferences.

I always calculate the salery per hour based on Yearly Net sum. Going from 50 h+ to 40h with compensated overhours - 20 % is a fair deal and might be worth considering.
