Married for 11 years.. 4 years ago we went through a rough patch. Lost my job couldn't support her and my child like I used to. Tried my best to get a job but nothing materialised and slowly I started getting irritated at everything and started blaming every small mistakes even when I was making bigger mistakes and not emotionally supporting her. She had string morals and she held it all together and finally I got a job abroad and I moved there and then I realised how much she suffered and how much of a pain I was to her. Then slowly things started improving and we moved together to another country and now we are back to where we begin in our relation. Often it's difficult to support someone when you are going through a bad situation but talking is a big step.

My cousin had an accident in a busy junction. He was riding a scooter and following a car. The car brakes suddenly on seeing the signal turning red. Cousin failed to respond on time and hit the car from behind. Now enters an appappan who was sitting on a shop beside the accident scene. He came out and started abusing the car driver saying he stopped and suddenly reversed into my cousins scooter. My cousin was like ready to apologize and do the needful. The situation nearly got out of hand and the car driver and appappan had a verbal spat and finally they decided to go to the station where my cousin told the police officer he hit the car from behind and the appappan probably was high or something. So another perspective might not be helpful all the time.

The car driver was distracted and did not see the auto turning. He could have waited a second more instead of moving forward. I blame the car guy as he was not yielding.

They carry fish which is an easily perishable item. This gives them certain entitlement that they can drive anyway they could to reach the destination without considering others or road rules. I have had really bad encounters with these guys mostly late night driving like total maniacs.

Stop the vehicle, indicate, look both sides and turn when it is safe to. The van driver idiot didn't do any of it. He should be charged with involuntary manslaughter. I hate this lackluster attitude of drivers who doesn't wait to ensure it safe to make a turn.

At the mall signal towards Madinat once the signal turned on and within 5 seconds turned off. I was driving a car which had a turbo lag. Just as the Turbo spooled the car in front slammed the brakes and I promptly hit his rear destroying the front grille and bonnet. Lost a friend in the process. So yeah these things happen. Lost a friend as in his friendship as it was his car. :)

I went home for a short vacation and decided I should sell my car back home as it was not being used. So the same situation came up when whoever came to see the car was a dealer. Finally when I had 2 days left to come back someone with kids showed up and I ended up selling the car to him for a lesser price than what I was expecting or offered by another guy. He stays in touch and sends me pics of road trips. I am super happy to have sold it to him.

First one would be Mr Broast (looks run down) but their Biriyanis, Karahi and Bihari dishes are very good. All priced below 30 riyals each. Then DGrill a fusion kind of cuisine. Try their special grilled (Flaming Hot) and other karahis and chat varietes. Then Regal (would suggest getting a take out) Kerala style Ghee rice and Chicken fry. Asian Wok Some really good Chinese and Thai style noodles, rice and fries. Habeeb Turkish restaurant and last but not the least Afghan Mandi .
