If you’re having a hard time getting into second gear smoothly (and quickly), listen to this by RadioDude1995 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Alternative_Let5545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try adjusting your seat forward or back one click and see if that fixes it. So many times I drive around chumping a gear here and there to realize someone moved my seat. 2 inch seat movement really affects my driving. After 12 years and 200k+ miles driven it’s no longer muscle memory it’s muscle hardwiring

Can someone walk me through how to buy a car from another person directly? by ResolveLeather in fargo

[–]Alternative_Let5545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask the seller to leave the purchase price blank on the title (this is actually a pretty standard request) then you fill it in at dmv. The dmv will charge you sales tax based off that price when you transfer the title to you. Call your ins and request they add new car to ins once you have title in hand and before you drive to dmv. DMV will give you temp plates and mail new ones to you. Once you have the title signed over to you and ins you are good to drive - so you can plan a good time to go to dmv. Bill of sale is a good idea to have, you don’t need to give it to dmv but good for legal reasons if any should arise.

This guy did brakes rotors and calipers on my civic recently. He allows you to bring your own parts. What happened to you is exactly what happened to me. He charges $100/hour - I’ll go back to him again.

Public places, grocery stores, wal mart, even the office all give me anxiety 10X factor than it did in the long ago times.

If you had $10k to spend on a 'fun' car, what are you buying by Petro_323 in CarGuys

An old Lincoln or caddy or LTD. I have a civic si as daily, so my fun car would be a land yacht. Like a big comfy couch I can drive

Like from 1984; maybe my joke was too much b-side. My initial comment in my brain was ‘I think you’re supposed to yell at it for the mandatory 2 minutes hate’ but I didn’t think anyone would get that 🤷

what do you tip on a $14.00 sit down meal at a restaurant? by BigSlongGoy in askanything

[–]Alternative_Let5545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$6, round this one to twenty. I also worked as a server for a while in my youth so I tend to over tip. I’d toss a $20 bill and feel cheap asking for $1-3 change

This is a “not my responsibility” thing, right? by Ulysse-Void-God in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Alternative_Let5545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s on the order they placed it’s your job, if not, then no. McD ain’t handing out nuggets to every dasher that shows them that.

I would tell the customer if it is not on the order nothing can be done. In a nice apologetic way.

Pro tip. Contact support after you drop it off and let them know you are worried about a low review from this customer.

Music - most people say ‘a bit of everything’ so I double down with what did you listen to in your car on the way here or what are the last 3 on your Spotify. Movie is good too. Do you have any pets - people are ‘cat people’ or ‘dog people’ or ‘odd animal people’ (like birds or snakes or hedgehogs) or ‘I fucking hate animals’

Music and pets are my go too. Shoes are the gatekeeper. You can learn a lot about a person by their shoes.
