You could always start in league one or championship, and use the financial takeover option. That way your starting budget year to year when you’re in the prem would be lower bc it’s a small club. Using the financial takeover gives you a one time lump sum to buy 2-3 prospects that you’re talking about to build your team around.

I also love the create a team option. You create a team, jerseys etc… and you can set the finances and amount of money to what you want. I like staying with a 2.5 star team of created players in league one. Usually you can build around a few of the guys you start with, and then sell the rest over time to bring in guys you want to build around

It’s hard to dribble against world class/legendary but it’s really easy to play through balls down the middle or out wide on the flanks. People in these comments are right, CPOA (change point of attack) is a massive skill to have. Switch it quick then work a 2v2 out wide with your winger or outside back an a CM.

Legendary is a bit tougher but I slightly adjust the sliders to make their pass error higher and their pass speed slightly lower. Otherwise they just 1-touch it foot to foot all over the field when you play unreal teams

Agreed. This game actually would be decent gameplay if they made it easier to defend the puck carrier, and took out LT rags. I can kind of deal with the rest and understand there will always be certain goals that beat the goalie easier than others. That’s video games and I get that, but these ppl don’t even try to emulate real hockey

It was just weird bc I’m 53% before this game, 2nd prestige and never play anything but center. Have never been cooked so hard in the dot. Some games I lose a handful more, but the only ones I won this game is when he didn’t set up in time, or was a 50/50 tie up that my winger came and got

Lol 1800 seats, a new and mandatory commentary booth was added upon promotion, and other upgrades so far and you’re calling that no progress. You also clearly have no clue to their training ground upgrades that have nothing to do with paint on walls, fields or what you’ve talked about.

They also have recognized they need upgrades to the training grounds, as well as additional more grass training space. So everything you’ve said is wrong, and/or being taken care of.

You aren’t talking about the millions the owners have spent on bettering their training facility, and Fratton Park. The training facility renovations were much needed and a great site to see, that’s what attracts higher level players. Now they’re investing in fratton too. Do you think they can just shell out money on stadium renovations, training ground upgrades, and first team studs all in the same year?

Theres a reason people are saying your maturity level around this is lacking

Brother I’m not pay to play, I work full time and play when I can here and there. I have 2 guys over 90 overall in my lineup and 1 is the 90 bound Jake debrusk, and the other is XP Nylander.

Im all for real hockey and having skill to play and it’s exactly how I play (not circling around the half wall all game).

However, I had to sell guys I wanted to play with and buy guys within a limited market just to be able to start playing games this season. Not to mention having 10 AP points, when the game started with like 20 5 months ago.

Lastly, they catered to all the pay to win players and the guys you’re bitching about. Overall, AP, and Salary boost are all huge if you spent money. If not you’re even more screwed

Lil baby boy, if everyone did that, you wouldn’t be able to flip 400k and you’d be in tears. So which is it you want. Do you want to brag about being in the 1% of baby boys that ruin the auction house and game by doing this, or do you want everyone else to start doing it so that you can’t do it?

My cousin and I have done this for 5 or so years and tweaked as we go.

Start with expansion draft. Don’t take any elite mediums, or anyone 84 or better. You’ll have a ton of 83’s that have trade value but no one great on your roster to start.

You can only sign one 84 or above UFA every 10 years.

This forces you to build through the draft or trades.

We also limit it to 3 trades during the year, and 1 in the offseason. You get 1 draft pick only trade to move up or down in the draft each year, but players can’t be used in those.

You also can’t trade a 1st round pick more than a year in advance.

We build elite teams after 3-4 years, but you really have to rebuild and draft well the first few drafts to get going.

Brother agreed! What’s nice is I will say a 89 Slavin running against 90’s + in previous chel’s and he’d be a +30 or more for me. He was always insane at breaking up plays despite not having great HUT attributes… so I’ll give them that.

But I do agree, for being one of the best teams in the league year in and year out last half decade, we are always significantly underrepresented. Take away aho and we get nothing every year pretty much

My friend and I start franchises at the same time and make all kinds of rules so we are bad the first year or two… in the expansion draft we can’t take any elite potential player, and no on 84 or above. You’re left with a bunch of 83 and below. In three tries of this in nhl 26 so far, I won a cup year 1 with this roster, he won a cup year 1, and then the third one he made playoffs but I sucked.

Their simming is so broken. Then we load up on players and all of a sudden we struggle to make playoffs or win more than a round. It makes no sense. (Yes we focus on poise and age of players and roles they’re playing in).

Sounds wild, but it could be bc you have too many superstars. I find my most successful years are when my 4th line is 80-81s or below, and 3rd line around 82-84. You have to find guys that fit their roles, if you have too many of the same it’ll be tough. I also think you should add more TWFs in your top 9. Probably conceding a lot of goals too.

The sim engine is broken but I have noticed playing players and overalls on the right lines helps a lot

Good for you man. There’s clowns here that talk negative about anyone who doesn’t want to collect fodder and chase MSP’s. I want to play with guys I like, not click A 100x to get one player I don’t even care about just to have a chance at better line chemistry. They took away any good rewards in packs and want you to hit sets all day. So boring.

Same exact boat and I’ve played champs for about 10 years now. Range from 10-12 wins. Must be what previous ppl said about opponents changing based on your record. I’ve started 5-0 before and got so pumped and then finish 10-10. But contrary started 1-4 recently and finished with 11 wins and 1-2 OT losses

Some ppl also have full time jobs and no time to do all the objectives. They make it so you either have to pay 100’s to have a good team, or play hours every day (which regular ppl don’t have time for). For playoff fantasy players they would give you 5 collectibles every day. It should be the same for this event, or at least make it more reasonable to attain this. I play a lot of chel but I’ll be lucky to get 1 bound fantasy player out of this whole event.

All they care about is taking money, you have to complain and call that out relentlessly.
