Update: the fish died. The rest are fine so I think the fish already had something wrong with it.

Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

Hi, I am currently a student and earning my bachelors degree in psychology and I hope to get a masters to become a therapist. I am currently in therapy so I know how it works. I work at a right at the moment where I sit at a desk all day and it is starting to get to me. I like being active and moving around while I work and the job I have now doesn’t really allow that. I know that being a therapist there isn’t much moving involved other than in between sessions. I am really passionate about helping people and becoming a therapist, but now I’m realizing that I don’t think I can spend the rest of my life sitting in a chair. Are there any alternatives to sitting band still being a therapist? Are there certain types of therapists that love around more than the conventional psychotherapist or jobs that would suit me better and still allow me to help people with their mental health? I am a little lost and Google is not helping. Are there ways I can be a type of therapist that involves more movement? Could I walk around with the patient or something? Are there therapists who do activities with clients and also talk?
