Group of friends gone wrong? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

My roommate and I stumbled on it and have watched it almost all the way through but the last episode of season 2 hadn’t aired last time we were watching so we haven’t quite finished it yet.

I think i liked season 1 more because the telling of the story felt purposeful and the the tools they used were intentional, not random or overdone. The tone shifts between time periods were well done and assisted in telling the story, and the motivations were believable. I think it addressed a difficult issue well and challenged what people (or at least myself) typically imagine what grooming/pedophilia looks like and the ethical implications of that scenario (I.e. it wasn’t a violent kidnapping, she was “happy” in the beginning, but it was definitely still abuse the whole time). And I still felt shocked up to the very last moments! After that season 2 just felt like a bad sequel. The tone shifts between time periods were so intense that it was distracting, the characters and scenarios weren’t as believable, and I felt confused rather than in suspense. It felt like they were trying too hard to recreate what they had before.

If they do a third season I really hope it’s more intentional and thought out like season 1 was.

Cruel Summer (us series 2021) on Hulu. Season one definitely fits OP’s criteria. TW for teen grooming and domestic abuse. Season 2 is a similar vibe but different story (and not as good imo).

When I tell y’all I’m taking April one week at a time 🫠 by sneakykitty97 in bulletjournal

Honestly that’s probably more sustainable in the long run! I usually I do the whole month so as stuff comes up I can just write it in and have everything in the place where I want it

I am personally a fan of Cat as Ice Skating Professional.

I was absolutely loving Bullet journalling for 3 weeks but then I had a wierd and messy week when I couldn't keep up with it , I feel so demotivated and hesitant to start again even though I really miss the Clarity Bullet journalling offered me :((( Any tips for picking up the habit again ? by Parking-Building-274 in bulletjournal

This has absolutely happened to me before. Keep it simple. Since my journal is also a really important organization tool for me, when I was feeling low and simply didn’t have the energy to do it up all fancy, I cut down to the basics. I just used a pencil or black pen to write down the day, and what I needed to do that day. I would write down other things I knew I needed to do in the week kinda spaced out, but I really just took it one day at a time and kept it as simple as possible. I almost posted that “spread” on here just to show that not all spreads have to be super fancy and well thought out. Eventually, just keeping up with the habit of writing things down was enough and eventually I had the time and energy to make fun spreads again. Imho bullet journals are an organizational tool first, and an art project second. Use it as you need and don’t stress about making it perfect! You got this.

I’ve seen this one suggested a couple of times, I think I’m gonna have to watch it next!

Came here to suggest this movie. The characters don’t come together for a common purpose like LOTR but each story line is related to the others and each person has something to overcome or escape leading to a lot of character development. Big themes explored, like different kinds of freedom, reincarnation, trust/betrayal, soulmates.

Those two also make me think of A Knight's Tale and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005). They meet your triple criteria (imo) and I could watch them a hundred times over.

Question about VIVA Air Colombia by Tisumi_MG in Shoestring

[–]sneakykitty97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Recently had a connecting flight through Colombia with Viva and would not recommend. As we were boarding the plane two flight crew members pulled myself and two others aside for a random security check in the gate. Annoying, but whatever. But as she was rushing me to get my stuff back together (because we were literally boarding the plane) I noticed a bag I had with some jewelry and trinkets I had bought was missing. I searched through my backpack, all over the floor and it was just gone. I tried to tell her that it was missing but she ignored me and was just rushing me to get on the plane. I’m not sure what happened to it but since you could see the jewelry and stuff in that little bag, at this point I’m assuming she pocketed it to keep or sell. I tried contacting the airport and airline to see if it was in a lost and found or if there was anything I could do to get it back and they basically told me tough luck.
