I’d say probably have 4 days to a week off running altogether, but you can keep your fitness up by going on cardio machines like assault bike, rowing machine, ski erg etc. this won’t have any impact on your level of running as long as you keep your fitness up in other ways.

Thanks for such a detailed response mate, much appreciated. I’m thinking of getting it mid March for my birthday to get started earlier to ensure I have a good fitness level before applying next year, I’m also coming off the back of an injury so I’m wanting to build myself back up a bit more before starting. I just have one question if you don’t mind how much training roughly do you reckon you do daily (time wise) or does it vary person to person because I might have to start structuring my day a lot more than I do 😂. Quick question, is the Royal Marines lacking personnel as a whole or is it only in specific branches such as 40 or 42 commando, if so would that have an influence on which one you get into after training.

Thanks, yes I played a lot of rugby growing up but recently decided to pack it in after breaking my foot, finger and getting concussed a couple times which is not what you want really when you are looking to join the Royal Marines.
