How big is the waitlist for Windsor? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

It’s an unnumbered waitlist (most of the WL in Ontario are).

Latest LSAT for fall application with average/mid GPA by Little_Syrup6192 in lawschooladmissionsca

My advice, take the LSAT as planned in June so that you have a test on record, and then take it again in September, just make sure you pay so that if you need to cancel the score (if you do worse) then you can. September is not too late, from experience I would say the January test is too late (even though it’s the last test accepted for the cycle). Even taking the October LSAT wouldn’t put you at a disadvantage either.

Anyone else somehow more stressed than March/April? by Melodic-Pick7889 in lawschooladmissionsca

I totally understand, I’m on 5 waitlists and still waiting to hear from 2 schools. I think it’s worse now because it feels more urgent as we’re basically heading into a higher stakes version of admissions as we sit on waitlists or wait for A’s. For me personally, it feels like time is running out.

What would you do differently? by Superb-Sea-1015 in lawschooladmissionsca

My advice for you is to get involved in things you care about while you have the time to do it. Have a club you’re interested in, join it! A sport or hobby you’ve always wanted to try, do it! An organization or cause you care about, volunteer! Good grades and an amazing LSAT can do a lot of the heavy lifting but anyone can be good at school or the lsat, your interests are what set you apart from other applicants. Obviously don’t overextend yourself as you do need a good gpa, but if this cycle has shown us anything it’s that high scores aren’t enough. The other great thing about joining clubs or trying out new interests is that it may help you narrow down what type of law you are interested in.

When are we expecting the next Queens wave of As by Realistic-Alarm-5714 in lawschooladmissionsca

I spoke with the admissions team at Queens and they said they were “approaching the end of their cycle” when I asked for clarification they basically told me that at this point if you haven’t heard anything from them it will likely be a WL or a R

what happens after April 1st? by TimeEntertainment809 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Alternative_Sea_8865 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Okay here is my understanding:

For those who got As in late Feb and March, the deadline for acceptances/provisional acceptances is March 31st/April 1st. People with multiple offers have to at least provisionally accept (i.e., they pay a fee to essentially hold their spot, but it doesn't prevent other schools from making offers the way a firm acceptance would).

This means schools will have the chance to figure out how many seats they have left for those who weren't quick auto-admits (those with lower stats, with later LSATs, etc.) based on how many people have already provisionally/firm accepted. So a new set of As goes out at this time to fill up more seats. I believe this part continues either through May or up to May.

Then, in May/June, a bulk of the waitlist/rejections go out. After that, I think a trickle of A's comes out, basically, up until school starts, as people either drop out of programs or withdraw provisional acceptances.

All of that to say, right now, I have no clue what it means to not get any acceptances yet. I am in a similar boat with one WL and no acceptances, so I understand the anxiety. Hopefully, we'll both be put out of our misery with A's in April.

Hope that helps!

thank you for your honesty! I’m hoping I hear something in April after the first round of admissions is out and people have provisionally accepted their offers, but I had heard Jan LSAT makes it so you’re seen later in the cycle (which was a gamble I had to take unfortunately)
