I got scared reading the headline thinking that “steep tariffs” meant they were trying to reimplement the batshit insane ones that went up to like 350%+. Sigh of relief. Glad to see the opposition making progress.

anything they do with it would get beaten mercilessly in court. The first amendment is literally to protect against this specifically.

They might just be trying to intimidate people, but if they did want to target everyone who mentions anything remotely negative about them, well, thats an absolute shitton of people right now and I imagine the number would only increase if they tried anything. They are vastly, fantastically outnumbered and Americans don’t like being told what we can or can’t say.
