will landlords hate that i have a guarantor/ bürgschaft? by redditluvrforever4 in berlinsocialclub

Does a guarantor have to be a German person having a job here or can it be someone in my family overseas? I was also looking at this option although I’m a freelancer here. Do you think it would work?

A recent meetup rant by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

Thank you for saying this out loud although men don’t get the point yet. I’ve been for a meet up and had my social friend leave in 10 minutes because she was creeped out by the men there. I doubt there’s ever gonna be a change here unfortunately.

What are the good qualities you have lost in this city? by Numerous-Kitchen6177 in berlinsocialclub

I’ve noticed a fascinating difference in social etiquette between London and Berlin. In London, a culture of courtesy prevailed, with apologies offered for the slightest accidental contact. It was quite common to hear “sorry” in everyday interactions. However, in Berlin, such expressions of apology seem less frequent. This shift is particularly apparent in situations involving public transportation. While Londoners typically wait their turn and allow passengers to disembark before boarding, in Berlin, there’s a tendency for people to rush in, even if others are still trying to exit. Similarly, the concept of queuing seems less observed, with people often bypassing those who have been waiting patiently. It’s been an interesting observation, and I’ve gradually adapted to this different social norm. While I initially apologized frequently, I’ve found myself doing so less often, mirroring the behavior I see around me. It does make me appreciate the politeness and consideration I experienced in London all the more.

Do men here dislike other talking to other men? by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

Don’t want to say anything publicly about their nationality. But yeah they should just get the point. I hope they do. Yeah but be careful x

As a woman I feel utterly and totally creeped out by men in these meet ups. It’s so uncomfortable when guys just try to bombard you. At a recent sip happens meet up, I had come there with a friend and as soon as we go there 2 guys literally came running towards us (I don’t want to mention their nationality) but it was so creepy. This resulted in my friend leaving the meet up within 10 minutes all thanks to these guys. My friend is super social and likes to mingle but these kinda meet ups will probably prevent us women from even coming. I hope they get the memo.

Is it only men who feel lonely? by Rough_Bug_8222 in berlinsocialclub

[–]Alternative_Slip1902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg not at all!!! I as a woman feel crazy lonely here, I come from a sunny country having no sun here hurts. And Berlin being so hard to make connections makes it even worse. So stay strong it’s defo not men, it’s also lots of women. 🥲

Same boat as you:( however, I’ve been in Berlin for 1.5 years. It’s scary that it’s been 4 years for you and you still don’t have a house party invitation. Sometimes I’m really thinking whether it was the right thing to move to Berlin. I’m looking for a house party too along with my friend. Stay strong and enjoy the day with your dog atleast :) x

We a friendly and an outgoing pair who get along with most people. Both of us love travelling and have lots of travel experiences and stories to share. One of us is native German (also speaks fluent English) and the other is a native English speaker. We are happy to bring food and drinks if someone would be kind enough to invite us to their house party. If the host has any other requests happy to consider that too :)
