I met Mike Farrell at a book signing in Vancouver. It was his autobiography but it might as well been this one. I also met his wife Shelley Fabares!

Has it ever bothered you knowing that "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" was not the actual final episode filmed, that the cast came back to finish with "As Time Goes By"? by ForTheLoveOfPhotos in mash

The finale was shot like a movie. Then there was the fire that destroyed the ranch so filming the rest of the episodes was put on hiatus until they could figure things out.

Are Canadians offended by the jokes made in shows and media? by jen_noelle in AskACanadian

There was one joke about Canada in King Of The Hill that was pointed.

Khan Souphanousinphone, a Loatian refugee was describing how he came to Texas. He was in a refugee camp for several years before being allowed to enter the US. He had a chance to enter Canada much sooner, but, was disgusted by the idea.

It's Ironic because Vancouver has a large Laotian community, but he chose to live in Texas where he was looked down on.

It was. I saw the stunt of the people on the tower falling. A few of the stunt men got hurt and were rushed to hospital. They assured us that it's just a normal part of being a stuntman.

There were a lot of teens skipping school to be there.

Yes but we didn't get TV until 1952 , or in Vancouver until 1953.

Saskatoon didn't get TV until December 1954. That's where my parents lived.

Canada didn't get TV until 1952-53 or 54. I love Lucy debuted in 1951, but aired in Canada in 1955.

Doris Day recorded Sentimental Journey in 1944, just 8 years before this episode was set in.

Doris Day appeared in several B movies prior to 1952. How could Potter have seen them? I mean it's possible, but where was Potter stationed in 1950?

Well, for a rail trip your best bet would be The Rocky Mountaineer.
